Greg, how did you mount a Magnetic Pickup on the Spider? Magnetics should be installed under the strings. In most installations you will get more feedback using a Piezo Crystal Pickup than you will using a Magnetic Pickup. Baffels or a Sound Chamber is already installed in most all Resonator Guitars...

A few months ago Don Helms told me he was still using his old E6 tuning on Ole Red. Ole Red was his name for his original Gibson Console Grande. Don is greatly missed by music lovers. I also have a Morrell 8 string and have it tuned to Don's E6 when I play Hank Williams Sr songs. It saves me from Sl...

David the way you see it a short circuit would be no load and an open circuit would be a dead short. I still say a 2 ohm load is greater than a 16 ohm load in a 4 ohm speaker output circuit. Using an 8 Ohm Transformer Secondary Connecting a 4 ohm speaker load will draw 2 times the marked wattage on ...

An 8 ohm speaker on a 4 ohm output is less load not more and will not make much difference in RMS wattage output. A 2 ohm speaker on a 4 ohm output will overload the amp and damage it. Remember you are talking about RMS watts output and loads, not straight resistive loads. On a resistive load the sm...

Jim,On the loud pop and reverb sound problem at turn on. This is usualy a problem that occurs when you turn on the amp with the volume or drive turned up on the amp or instrument. If all volume and drive controls are not turned off at turn on, you stand to damage your amp and, or your speaker.

I was just told to not come back to a jam, by the owner W.G. I told him there is no B# and no E#. Am I wrong? Is there some places where C and F are used as B# and E#? I learned music in the 1940s and this was not taught to me.

No, an octave is 13 notes. Count the root as #1 and the 13th note is the root one octave higher. So there is 12 notes in a scale. There are 7 major notes and 5 sharps or flats in a scale. which is 12 notes. Or did I learn it wrong?? :?

I think the tone of any Electric Instrument is a product of the Pickup, the Amp, and the Effect boxes you have. Smoothness and Technic of playing is what comes from the player and if you don't have the same talent as the other player, you will not sound the same. If you are playing Accoustic, that i...

Bob Hoffnar, I have been trying for 77 years to become unstupid, but your first entry has me stumped. I mostly play E6 and Dobro G. I want to learn other tunings, but I cannot tell the frets or strings in the post. If it is too hard to explain that is OK. I am still trying to get unstupid.

I don't believe the guitar was sold. If the guy deals in musical instruments he knows he could get more than the asking price for the guitar.
