Hey Willis, All advertising showed the Blond and eventually, Sunburst colors. I did have mine done in Lake Placid blue, with the standard black frame. Also, thanks to Gene Fields, had all 9 pedals and 4 knee levers chromed. IF not mistaken, special could get you any color, but I could be wrong. Carl W...

Great choice. Gene Fields is and has been a quality builder for years. Being a good and close friends for years at Fender, I learned Gene's respect for building and quality. He always waned the very best. Fender should have let him continue when Fender was building PSG's Their mistake! But he has his...

I miss playing a lot, and even though good tracks are out there, it's just not the same as working with tho...

Terry Bethel is one of most under-rated player I can think of. I have that CD and it's amazing. Terry has the touch down on sweet steel, as well as speed. I've watched him several times when my son worked with Terry in Las Vegas at sam's Town. Another player worked with Terry in that gig, named Dick...

Right Jason, Paycheck spent a lot of time at George's Round-Up with Wynn Stewart. He also did a lot of demo sessions at Sundown Records. We had great times together. He also spent some time living with Skeets McDonald in La Marida,Ca.

Like Mr. Dixon said, the Emmons makes it east to create two different tones, by adjustments on the tone control and engaging the switch. But,I also beleive the players touch, and execution play a large part.

The Fender logo on the frames of all the pedal guitars were metallizes adhesive. They wer placed on the left side(if you're standing in front of the guitar)On the pedal board they originally were placed in the middle. Those were a decal. In the late 60's early 70's I put in an ECO (engineering chang...

Jason has it all down. How I'll never know but he does. Great Jason. As far as Ralph's guitar, he never played a Fender 400 or 800. He used a 1000 for a while. He never used a Fender 2000 either. But the stories about legs falling off is no joke. He called me one day to sub for him and he told me at...

James, just for information, my Fender 2000
was Lake Placid blue with 11 chrome pedals and 4 chrome levers. It's still a bute for sure but hasn't been out of the case in many years. IMHO, I couldn't stand that sunburst color.

Tim is pretty much right on with his information as to the West Coast sound. I worked for Wynn Stewart for many years until he moved the band to Las Vegas. If you mean the blond color, that was the first, and a standard color. If you mean natural wood, that was a special order. Difference between the late 60's and 70's models probably don't amount to that much. Pick-up's pretty much the same until the Model 800-S10 and 2000 D-10 hit the market. Jody Ca...
