Fender 400-800-1000-2000 Logo Question

This may not be the place to post this question so if that is the case, apologies in advance.

1) Is the Fender tag that goes on the front of the body of the 400-800-1000-2000 guitars the same for all those models and all the years it was made?
2) Does anyone know of a source for a replacement, used, NOS or remake?
3) How did they attach?
4) Would someone be willing to take a digital photo of theirs so when I do find one, I know where to mount it?

Thanks for any and all help. I will cross post this in the non-pedal group as well.

This is identical to the 1000 models, but I don't know about the 800 and 2000. Jody will no doubt see the Fender topic and pop in to answer your other questions.

I can try to email you a close up photo from my 1000. Then you could possibly have one made at a trophy shop or someplace. Unless someone on the Forum happens to have one, they will be extremely difficult to find.

No, it's not. Early guitars had a small logo (on both the body and pedalboard), and later ones had a larger logo. Later models also had the pedalboard logo moved from the center to the left-hand side (around pedal #10), but it seems the people at Fender weren't real picky about where they placed the decals and nameplates on either the pedalboard or the body! On some guitars, the pedalboard decal was in the open space (between pedal #10 and the leg bracket). Other guitars have them centered over pedal #10. Also, the same is true for the body logo. You'll find them near the top edge on the left-hand side, but the location varies significantly. In general, the 1000/2000 logo was closer (1/2"-1") to the end of the guitar. Those on the 400/800 were spaced farther (4"-6") from the end. However, some guitars (all the PS-210's, and a few of the 800/2000 series) even used the large-script metal amp logos!

So, it seems there's a lot of room for "creativity" if you're replacing a decal or nameplate. Jody Carver can probably shed even more light on this curious inconsistancy.

Yes, Mine is a 400, 1962. I purchased it new.
The decal on mine is on the bridge end and the pedal board decal is center.

Moon...are you saying the body tag on your Fender is a decal? I have never seen one in person but I had assumed that the logo on the foot board was a decal and the one on the body was a tag, like the ones on the amps. So much for assumptions.

James - The logo on the body looks like it's printed on a thin metallic strip of tape with a clear laminate covering on top. I wouldn't call it a decal. Moon would you agree (nice to see you back on the forum, by the way)? Although I didn't try, it looks like it could be peeled off. I would guess it's epoxied onto the al-mag frame. I'm still trying to get a close-up photo for you, but I have to replace the batteries in my digital camera. I'll email it soon. Where's Jody??

The Fender logo on the frames of all the pedal guitars were metallizes adhesive. They wer placed on the left side(if you're standing in front of the guitar)On the pedal board they originally were placed in the middle. Those were a decal. In the late 60's early 70's I put in an ECO (engineering change order) to relocate the decal to the left side of the pedal board.
I think the 400 and 1000 models had a smaller Fender logo, but it's been a long time guys.
There was no spicific deminsion called out as to exactly location where either logo went, just on the left side favoring the left end.
