Fender 1000 on e-bay

Post by Willis Vanderberg »

The Fender 1000 going on e-bay today is said to be original finish. Was that finish an option? I have one that is blonde or cream colored. I seem to remember, that cream and sunburst were the only colors available.

So, it appears to be all there (can't see under the bridge covers), but it's definitely not "100% Original" as the ad states. Both the body and frame have been refinished (wrong colors, at that), and the knobs are wrong, too.

Okay for a player, I guess, but a shrewd "collector" wouldn't touch it.
[This message was edited by Donny Hinson on 21 November 2004 at 01:08 PM.]

Hey Willis, All advertising showed the Blond
and eventually, Sunburst colors.
I did have mine done in Lake Placid blue, with the standard black frame. Also, thanks to Gene Fields, had all 9 pedals and 4 knee levers chromed.
IF not mistaken, special could get you any color, but I could be wrong.
