For Sale: Sho-Bud LDG

Early 80's Sho-Bud LDG. 3 Pedals, 4 Knees, Emmons setup. Plays Great and Sounds Great. I purchased this guitar from a forum member about 6 or 7 years ago and it has been all I could have asked for. Believe me, I would not part with this guitar if finances didn't dictate that I must. The guitar has b...

Steel in Springfield Mo tonight

I'm heading to Springfield today to take part in the annual bowling tournament where I never win any money. Just wondering if there is a band playing anywhere in Springfield MO. tonight with a steel player that will knock my socks off?

Thanks Pete. The pickup in mine is a single coil so it probably is the original sho-bud pickup. Is there much difference in the sound of the 705 and the sho-buds in your Pro II?

Stock Pickup on LDG

I was wondering if anybody knew what stock pickup was used on an early 80's LDG. And also any opinions on what pickup sounds best in these guitars. I can't seem to find out what pickup I have on mine. I have done a search but can't come up with anything.

Thanks in advance

I have 1 song in each catagory of Country and Rock that did it for me back then and still do it for me today. Although there have been a lot of songs with much prettier steel guitar in them, when I heard Lonesome, On'ry and Mean by Waylon, I was fascinated by the steel in that song. I bet I have pla...

Lost my pickup in a card game in New Orleans Lost my girl to a stranger in LA Left my dreams in a motel in Atlanta And I guess I lost my mind along the way. Can't you see I'm dying on my feet Walking to my grave too gone to weep These old memories is tearing up my mind They're just dreams of a dream...

A couple of years ago, I had the priviledge, I guess you would say, to take my daughter and step-daughter to a Back Street Boys concert in KC. I had heard several of their songs and figured I could put up with them for one night. Amazingly they were very very good and put on an excellent show. They ...

I Just Heard a New One

I just heard a new song that really moved me. The song is "Right Where I Need To Be", by Gary Allen. Now I'm probably going to get trounced on for this because this is obviously a Rock oriented song. I love traditional country music but I am also an old rocker. I heard this song driving in...

Peavey Question

I have a chance to buy a Peavey KB 100 which is a keyboard amp. I have heard this amp is good for steel because of the good high and low ranges of the amp. A person who runs the local guitar shop says the steel player in his band plays through a KB 100 and it sounds great. I am going to take this am...

Jeff, I really did not know Nat Stuckey did this song too. I guess I just listened to Jim Ed sing it for so many years that I thought he was the only one until Alan Jackson. I think you've just sent me on a mission to find Stuckey's version. Thanks for the correction. One can never have to many vers...

Jim Ed is and always has been one of my favorites. I still think the original "POP A TOP" is the best. I have a CD called THE ESSENTIAL JIM ED BROWN. Lot of good songs, lot of good music. Jim Ed also did quite a few duets with Helen Cornelius in the early and mid 80's. They had a very good...

Makes the Strait and Jackson song Murder On
Music Row mean something doesn't it? I'll put my 2 cents worth in here and list Vern Gosdin. He's not near the Jones or Haggard type but man what songs.

The first time I heard this song I thought," you can't do this to a classic Statler Bros. song".I always thought the natural harmony is what made this song. As with any new song the radio stations where I am from play this thing about 50 times a day. Once I got over the initial, OH NO, sta...

Trace Adkins

I am a relatively new steel player so I hope I don't say anything real stupid. I would like to know if anyone knows where I can get my hands on the tablature for the steel solo in Trace Adkins song--Lonely won't leave me alone. I think that solo is so good, I just have to learn to play it. Does anyb...
