Who sang this song??

Post by Dan Dickey »

I am trying to find out who sang a certain song that was popular in the late 60's I believe. It was sang by a female and I thought it was Connie Smith but I'm not sure. I don't know the name of the song other than it might be "Promises Promises".

Some of the lyrics are---

Promises Promises,
That's all I ever get
That's all I ever get
Promises Promises,
That's all I get
All you gave me since the day we met
You'll break my heart into again I'll bet.

That's all I remember. If anyone knows who sang this please let me know

Thanks
Dan

Your singer is the lovely and talented Lynn Anderson, backed up by the maestro Lloyd on steel.

Lloyd even included an instrumental version of "Promises, Promises" on his album "Mr. Nashville Sound" (Chart CHS 1006 which was released on CD a couple of years ago. I don't know if it is still available, if yes, it#s a great album!

You might want to check out with Bobby Lee or Scotty to see if the "Mr. Nashville Sound" CD is still available.

For Lynn Anderson: in 1999 Sony Music Special Products had a CD called "Lynn Anderson - Anthology-The CHART Years" which had all those great recordings with Lloyd Green on. I think it is still available at Amazon. Check this one out!
