Thanks Mick, Nice little song. I really like your site., especially the C6 stuff. It’s really given me material to learn new ways of playing that I wouldn’t otherwise be thinking of. I really liked the Jobim material (Wave). I think a lot of Jobim songs would go well with the C6 neck. Any chance of ...

Mick Jagger's a Traitor !!! He said he was singing only for us here in El Paso..... I'm guessing when they were in Central Texas they sang the BOB WILLS IS STILL THE KING number. I saw them in El Paso last Friday night and they sang the Marty Robbins song "EL PASO." Right after they sang L...

From my seats...I'd say a black one. Seriously, I was too far back to get a real good view of it. It did have like 7 foot pedals hooked up to it, although I don't think he was planning on playing too many Emmonsesque C6 runs !!! Stones style steel is a little different from what we're used to done h...

Rolling Stones tour Texas

Saw the Rolling Stones last night in El Paso. Great show. At one point, on LET IT BLEED, they brought out a pedal steel that Ron Wood played maybe 1 or 2 licks on right about the time they sang this verse: I was dreaming of a steel guitar engagement When you drink my health in scented jasmine tea Yo...

Jimmy,

You might try looking under the spelling MIDNIGHT IN OLD AMARILLO.

I think Buddy Emmons had it on one of his sets (We're steel swingin'?)

Anyway, if you search under that spelling, you might have better results.

Good luck,
David H.

One great way that I've found to improve your ability to read standard notation is to get one of those software programs where you can write out something in standard notation and then play it back at various speeds. (The particular one that I have is called Cakewalk and runs for around $40 at Best ...

That reminds me of a guy I saw at a songwriters showcase night in Austin one time. He had one song where he set all the controls to 10. It was called the "Chainsaw song."

I never heard of him after that....

ATTN: MANUFACTURERS Here's your chance to grab the future by the horns. Here's what we need: 1. One neck for the PSG that has some type of universal tuning that gives you the best of the E9 and C6 worlds. 2. The other neck the pedabro neck, or similar. S. Garrish, T. Lawrence, Pedobro ?

I was learning some parts off of some Tracy Lawrence songs (in particular, If the World had a front porch) and the dobro part sounds like he's making some steel licks. I know Sonny Garish has done the steel and dobro on alot of Tracy Lawrence's stuff. Does he play pedobro too ? Speaking of Pedobros....

John,

Thanks for the info. There's no one that should get the sale more than the player that did the work.

Checks in the mail to Mr. Brumley. Again, thanks for the info.

Kevin, You can find the lyrics and chord progression of that song at the COWPIE song corral (SEE LINK BELOW). Several people have their versions there, some better than others. http://www.roughstock.com/cowpie/songs/ The little hook in the middle of the song goes from Bm to D and I get it at the 10t...

Hey Don, I bought a steel from you several months ago. (One of Robbie Turner's old ones). Just want to mention that it sounds great and I wasted no time putting it to work. Although it wasn't the only or main selling point, the audio clip definately caught my attention. I looked at and listened to s...
