Interesting but I found it too shrill for my taste, although it was only one tune and tuning I guess, I did enjoy what they are doing but I guess I prefer a different sound, more bass and a darker tone

I am also in the UK, the lap steel is also a relative of the dobro and other acoustic lap instruments, there is a fair bit on youtube, where in the uk are you based as there are players up and down the country who may be able to get the ball rolling

NRP have the capacity to make a hollowneck, Mule have done a few but not in the traditional style but interesting. A glorious alternative is Fine Resophonic in Paris, Mike Lewis is renowned as one of the top builders. There may be some options also in New Zealand with Russ Matsen or maybe some other...

Pack it to death, I save lots of packaging to the dismay of the wife, bike shops are useful resources of heavy duty boxes, you have to cut them to size to fit a guitar or smaller for a steel but they are thicker cardboard. So all that upcycled bubble wrap & Polystyrene etc has cone the job on ma...

Not normally a fan of Relic finish as it always looks like you are buying a secondhand instrument at new price, but this one does look good, more of a beachcomber driftwood look going on.

Oh you can keep the legs strictly lap for me.
