I’d switch your RKL & LKL. Trying to feel a half-stop while working your A&B pedals (either together or individually) could be awkward.

Looking at the above undercarriage photo above, I’m impressed by his use of eccentric cams to support against cross-shaft flex. They are so much easier to adjust or remove than a middle aluminum rail.

I think what’s going on is that the LKR lever is on its own shaft. If you look close, you can see the reversing mechanism near the center rail activating a shaft more towards the key head. If that’s the case, it would seem to be a simple case of moving bell cranks on the crossshaft to align with the...

TELONICS—great customer service,

Had an amazing customer support experience with Telonics. My four year old TCA 500 C amplifier developed a power amp problem. I called Telonics and was immediately connected with the company owner and developer, Dave Beaty. After a 30 minute phone conversation, David suggested that I send the entire...

I’m another one who couldn’t make the switch from D-10 to 12 string universal. After deciding to commit to the Uni, I sold my Zum D-10 & bought a pair of Zum 12 string Universals with locking levers. I just couldn’t make the transition. Both my E9th & C6th playing consistently suffered . Abo...

Another helpful hint, is “timing” all the changes on any pedal or lever. Multiple changes should preferably start and definitely end at the same time. To time raises, choose different leverage positions at the changer finger attachment holes. The holes closest to the changer pull faster, but stiffer...

Every instrument is difficult to play at a top professional level, but some are easier to get a decent sound out of right off the bat - guitar (Roy Clark's guitar book), piano, kazoo, percussion, etc. And others, like the pedal steel, violin, and oboe, take a bit more work to get a nice sound, even...

I had a 4-change pedal change placed on a two Zum S-12 universals by Bruce Zumsteg which worked. The changes were placed on a pedal but had a toggle/style clamp on the back apron that locked it in. I’d press the pedal and flick the clamp lever to either keep it engaged or disengaged. The goal was to...

I The Nux “Damp Reverb” is great. It uses the same great reverb electronics found on the Nux Atlantic” but without the Delay function. The unit has three reverb options (spring, plate and hall). The knobs include: level, tone and decay. It also has a hidden “shimmer “function. It’s footprint is tiny...

Have you tried McMaster Carr. They have a bunch of hex internally threaded rod connectors. I don’t recall the size for ZB guitars.

Re: Horse Trading

love it! do you have any zum parts? Not trying to hijack your post, Wayne, but I noticed Dana was asking about Zum-Steel parts. Coincidentally I just found a bag of parts in one of my bins and would be happy to sell them. Dana, I sent you a PM. https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix2203/4671_3D742...

I found the 2 BW magnets in my shop. They are in the Peavey boxes that the neodymium magnets shipped in.

I’ll sell the pair of them for $65 + shipping from southern Oregon. Let me know if you’re interested. PayPal accepted

Im pretty sure there are a couple of original BW magnets in my garage. I swapped them for neodymium ones about 10 yrs ago. I’ll look for them later today.

I’d love to swap for an entire Neo 4-ohm speaker or magnet, but would consider selling them too.

To be honest, the last time I actually played a Peavey Session 400 was about 30 years ago. That said, the Sesh 400 with + Straight-Ahead Power Amp sounds very close to what I remember it sounding. Jay sells his power amps through his Facebook page. There are no ads per se, you just contact him throu...

I’ve just traveled the Sesh/Ganz path you’re considering. Initially I bought a Sesh 400 about 2 months ago and liked it immediately. I tried several different power amp options but eventually found a used Ganz Straight-Ahead on the forum. The Ganz was, hands down, the best sounding option with the S...
