Did anybody try to use a zoom r8/16/24 as both preamp (from psg via VP to recorder guitar input to preamp input on Nashville 112) and as recorder (of lineout signal). Is this worth trying? I could just try it, but all the cabling seems intimidating and time consuming.

Can I ask why this is a problem? I have the same model. I am more than 6 feet tall and raising the one rear leg was enough for me to feel comfortable.

I'm using the app on iPhone 3s with my GFI directly plugged in via Peterson's adaptor cable. I tune every day and my E's stay very well in tune. Maybe you should try the adaptor cable?

I'm thinking of getting a Peterson strobe, but not sure about best placement. I run my PSG -> Hilton VP (unmodded) -> Zoom R8 recorder as preamp -> power amp input on Peavey Nashville 112. Where can I put in a tuner in this chain with the least impact on the sound?

Just paid for the book as I love your previous tab books. Excited about trying the new tunings, but any suggestions for how to tune the 1st (bottom) and 8th (top) string in A6 and B11 on an 8-string lap steel for possible enhanced strumming or chords in these tunings?

My ordinary Dunlop thumb pick that I have used for several years on lap steels and pedal steel broke after a few hours playing a Gretsch Jim Dandy acoustic guitar with steel strings. Can anyone recommend a thumb pick that is good for both steel guitar and ordinary guitar?

How do you install these on Mac. I have BIAB 12.5. I dump the seven sty.files in both the main BIAB folder and the styles folder, then rebuild the list, but they never appear. I can open them manually though. Please help.

I was looking at the vinyl covers for sale in www.steelguitarscanada.com. What's the general consensus about the usefulness of such a cover to help keep the pedal steel in tune longer?

Thanks Geoff. I just tried that. My GFI Student Model clearly sounds better now with Eb tuned with SP9 and E with SE9. I just got confused.

Thanks for the quick reply, but it is not a question of sequence, but rather whether my D# (tuned with both lever engaged and tuning key) should be tuned with SE9 or SP9. Sorry if that was unclear. My guitar is a SD-10 as indicated in the title.

It sounds and looks astonishing if you like big Hawaiian swells (I do).

I think Tabledit works great for PSG. When you have applied Pedal Steel Guitar in the module, you just click e.g. SHIFT+A to get a Pedal A pitch change. No need to open the Pitch Change window if you are happy with the copedents. I didn't change anything. All seems to work fine now in the Mac versio...
