Raising a GFI Student Model

Post by Danny Letz »

Got any ideas on raising a GFI student model. The legs are nonadjustable except for a jackscrew on one rear leg. GFI says order longer legs and pedal rods. Pedal bar mounts thru holes in the front legs. I'm trying to figure out something I can build that won't mutilate the guitar.

Can I ask why this is a problem? I have the same model. I am more than 6 feet tall and raising the one rear leg was enough for me to feel comfortable.

I am working on this guitar for a rather large gentleman who says his shins are quite long and he can't get under the guitar. I am 6-1 1/2 and I get under it but it is tight. He is taller than me. I am coming up with some ideas but I live in the country and need to go to the city to a fastener shop to check out my options. I think the George L pedal rod extenders will work. It is the none adjustable legs that are presenting the challenge. It's a good sounding and playing guitar.

I have small square blocks that raise the steel about 3/4 inch and lower pedals to match. Bob M

Bob, I'm working on some things. If they fail, I may be in touch with you. Thanks
