There's only one "Big E"! Shot told me it was built for Buddy, even though he wasn't connected to Sho~Bud by then.

Sho~Bud "Big E" Keyless

Here's a long lost picture I took in March of 1972 upstairs at Sho~Bud on Broadway. https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix2203/785_BigE_edited1_2.jpg I talked to Ed Naylor in St. Louis years ago and told him I had a picture of this guitar. He told me he ended up owning it, but didn't have it at the...

Photoshop of an Instamatic picture I took in early '70's. Blew up the contrast and lightened it until I had a watercolor effect.

Be on the lookout for another pic that will be really cool, taken the same time I was there. I lost track of it until a few days ago.

Holy Crap! Where did you get that? I designed that deal of mine several years ago and had t-shirts made.

What about this?

Ricky - Yes, I've never entertained another guitar. I fell in love with Lloyd & Hal's sound and knew I had to have a Sho~Bud. My first guitar was a Crossover which sounded great, but when the Pro II debuted I had to have one. It's the only guitar I had for 29 years until a guy talked me into tra...

A Special Day

I'm celebrating a "milestone" today - According to information from Mr. Gene Haugh obtained a few years ago, I learned my guitar's birthday. It was built 50 years ago today by Paul Sr.! I remember the day I ordered it from Del City Music in the early fall of '73, and them letting me pick i...

Get ready for a deluge of folks wanting their guitars refinished! Previously having a body shop and not using Nitrocellulose lacquer has some major benefits. A lot of progress for just a week!

I have a couple of '71 Mach 1's that could use a little help :)

Pretty cool seeing Lloyd playing, but I wonder why Connie or her label didn't have Weldon play?

Looks like all you will need is another nylon tuner and maybe a spacer of some sort.

I agree with Tim.

However, everyone is missing the most important element: The drums drive the passage. You'd better teach the drummer how to play it first. If you don't, it'll be crap.

I play it D F#m G and a quick E/B/E. Don't over analyze.

Rule of thumb is pretty much going to the 5 of the key you're modulating to.

Finally reached the manufacturer. They are sending me both capacitors and pull chain switch for both of my fans. What makes it really cool is they are 13 years old and they're not charging me anything!

Thanks to those who offered info.

Look a little closer Damir -

Curly's playing a Sho~Bud through what appears to be a Twin on the first video!

I don't know what guitar he used on his Big Hit's album, but it sounds just like the one in the video.

I agree with Johnny Cox - I think he wanted to sound kinda muddy.

In Need of an Electronic Guru

This is a little off music related topic, but I need some help. Can anyone that understands capacitors in ceiling fans pm me? Having trouble finding exact capacitors to replace and may have to resort to either wiring in parallel or something. If so, pm me for my phone# or yours to discuss off Forum....

Don't forget what Jeff taught on the violin emulation: You must pick 1 & 2 alternately in a steady cadence to sustain the violin vibrato effect. He recommended the BossTone at the class I attended.

You're right Ricky. I was reading this wondering why a professional would have had narrow pedals. Based on the picture, it does look like they were the wide pedals trimmed because the narrow pedal barrels (tubes) are different.

Erv, I'm thinking the distance between the pickup and the changer might have given the ZB a "bite" that other guitars didn't have. Of all the times I've watched Tom on television or videos I'd never seen his right hand from that angle. His picking looked very unusual in those shots, and so...
