Hi Ken,

Did you buy this guitar at Willie's a while back?
Just curious, it looks like my old guitar.
Thanks,

Wes Montgomery, the great jazz guitarist, was once asked if playing with his thumb rather than with his fingers or a pick limited him as a player. He responded, "It is my limitations that define me." If trying to improve your speed results in more practice time, it is a good thing. You may...

Question for Florida

Does anyone remember a music shop in Debery (pardon the spelling) Florida that always had steels on hand. I believe the owner's name was Larry and was involved in the Steel Guitar Show in that area. Just wonderd if the shop was still there and how he is doing. He was a good guy and always treated me...

OK, I think I've got it now.
Arrive 2 hours early, order 4 boilermakers, make 3 trips to my backup unit which is hidden behind the spare tire well in the trunk, get a massage, stop whinning and play.

I knew the answer was just a question away.

Thanks Michael, Its not a big deal, I just need to get my right hand loosened up before the end of the third song. I have gotten very good at the idiot check and arive home with no more or less than I left with. We opened for Shooter down at the Surf Ballroom last year. The guys in the band were ver...

Staying Cool

I seem to have difficulty getting relaxed to play. At home, no problem or in a 3 to 4 set evening I can get dialed in. It is the rush in, set up, play and tear down for the next band situation which is most common in my area. I just wondered if anyone has any mental or physical exercises that helps ...

Thanks Al, I have been playing 6 string guitar and E9 for so long it may be an easier transition for me to take your lead. Can you give me an idea of the string gagues you use. The C6 positions are beginning to gell in my brain, but it seems easier for me to forget things than it is too remember them.

C6 foot question

I am very green on the C6th neck. I find myself looking down at the floor to make sure I am stepping on the right pedal and frequently I am not. Should I raise some pedals for reference or is there a known technique that is unknown to me? I believe over time I will get it but sooner would be better....

Loss of low end on acoustic guitar

I have an old Bronson Raido King square neck that has a very active back. When I play it standing up, it has great low frequency response but looses much of it's richness when played on the lap. Short of clamping the guitar between my knees, does anyone have suggestions on how to get around this pro...
