Looking to split a room with someone in Ft. Collins... Don't have one yet... I'm arriving Wed, 22 Oct, leaving Sun the 26th... don't smoke, drink, or chew, but I'm told I snore. Not sure I believe that, however. Lemme know! Thanks DK

Wow...

I logged on to look for something else, and for some reason went to the "Gone Home" page... I had not heard that Steinar had died... we never met, but corresponded for the past 8 years or so... sad to hear... I'll miss his soul in my life...

@Mike - that's great... there was a pic with the auction, but it was not very good. @Al -- I'm in C13, L--> H = Bb E G A C E G -- that's the tuning that I got from Bobby Ingano. Sometimes I put 7 to C, as I need that note on certain songs... Looking forward to seeing you at Winchester... and everyon...

@Garry -- I have no problems with the shorter scale, but I play 2-3 different scale instruments already... I found it very easy to adapt to the shorter scale, plus, the harmonics are easier to get!

Size of legs

Simply take a leg into the hardware store, go to the section with nuts, and find one that fits the threads. If none fit (highly unlikely), they should have gauges for size & TPI. Then let Mark know... he should be able to drill and tap to the appropriate size. dk

The guitar disected (a bit)

Well, this guitar is mine, all mine (bwah ha ha)... Yep, it's an oddball, for sure. I changed strings on it last week, pulled all the electronics to check for dates and solid solder joints. It's a wonder that it worked at all! The wires were soldered together nicely, but had a blob of solder on the ...

Stiff?

Oh, yeah, they are really stiff... It would take a while to get them bent to fit the fingers comfortably, and I use that word loosely!!

I'm using plastic now... gee, that's what I started with back in the 60's... How'd I end up back there?

Old "mizrabs"? :-)

Hey, Mike -- These are some picks that came in the case of a steel I got... They are labelled "FITRITE Pat. Pend." They are NOT comfortable (to me)!! :D But, someone in the 30's or 40's had the same idea! http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix0912/4535_Pick_2_1.jpg http://bb.steelguitarfor...

Thanks, Andy, but those don't really help much... The schematics don't show which terminals to connect wires to (at least not that I can see), and I think that's part of the problem... something is on the wrong connector on a pot... The 3-way switch works fine, so I'm not going to mess with that!! -...

Gibson Consolette wiring diagram needed

Have a Gibson Consolette double-8 that needs some help... when I got it, the upper neck was all bass, and the lower neck was mostly treble... Plus, the upper neck (only) had a low 60 cycle hum. I asked on here and several people had ideas, including replacing the pots... So, I got new pots, but befo...

Gibson Consolette pickups

Greetings -- just picked up a Gibson Consolette (D8) in primo condition... but, I'm not an "electric" player and have no clue about electronics... I find that the back neck is all bass, and the front neck is all treble... It has P-90 pickups on it, only one volume and tone control... Is th...
