Several people mentioned the JV-1010. I'm thinking of getting a used one. Is anyone using this with the serial connection in XP?

When I browse the forum the number of days to view past topics is correct as set in my preferences. But I always have to enter my username and password when posting. Why would one be remembered and not the other?

If you click on the preferences link at the top you can specify that you want your username/password stored in a cookie. But in my case it doesn't work and I do have cookies enabled on my system.<FONT SIZE=1 COLOR="#8e236b"><p align=CENTER>[This message was edited by Peter Timaratz on 24 J...

PopUpCop is the best software I've found for dealing with pop ups. A lot of software that tries to solve the problem requires constant input from you on each new site you visit. PopUpCop is smart enough to figure it out by itself. It's not free though.

I don't now of any free way to recover lost data. Your chances of recovering the data are greatly increased by not using the computer until you recover the files. The following site will give you a trial program that tells you what files it can recover and then you can decide if it's worth paying fo...

I'm not quite sure what you are asking. You can burn any file to CDR as long as it isn't too large.

I don't use iTunes, but it sounds to me like it has a fade-in feature that you need to disable. It's a feature that is useful for DJs to prevent gaps between songs.

I don't think you'll see much of a reduction in size by zipping. In your situation the only option is a lower bitrate as mentioned earlier.

Bobby, Here's what I've learned so far. There seems to be two categories of software that use samples - soft synths and soft samplers. The soft samplers are what I'm focussing on. They come with a good collection of samples. They have different packages of samples that range from 1GB to 8GB. The pro...

With today's powerful computers a software sound module should be able to sound just as good as a hardware module. Has anyone tried any of the high end alternatives to VSC?

Why SD10 instead of S10?

My understanding is that an SD10 is a single neck on a double body. What is the advantage of that compared to an S10?

I suspect that in the posts you mention someone has inserted HTML which forces the page to a specific size. The only thing you can do is change the size of your type to make it fit - View - Text Size.

I tried your page and got a message that http://www.geocities.com/msad10/donson~1.wav could not be found. It looks like you have a wave with a long filename that was linkified using the DOS 8 character name. Wave files are a very inefficient way of putting music on the web. MP3 files are at least 1/...

Roy,

The root file refers to the home HTML page. Since you are asking this question I'll infer, as I did in my repsonse to your email, that you don't know HTML or how web servers work. That's why I suggested the second program. It's much simpler for what you are doing.

A simpler way to share files than what I recommended about is a program called WWW File Share. You can find it here: http://www.wfshome.com/index.html

You can get a free, simple web server for your computer here: http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/network/sswww.htm

Keep in mind that if you post a link to your computer that people can only access it when your computer is on and the web server is running.

I'm expecting to spend several years learning how to play. I agree that it's usually by "baby steps" that we finally grow to proficiency . I think that struggling is a sign that one is taking steps that are too large for your current technical capability. And I don't think you can learn ef...
