Melobar Rattler $250 plus shipping

I drifted away from playing steel several years ago and this is the last of my collection. The guitar is in excellent condition. I replaced the tuners with Grovers, but otherwise it is the same as when I bought it many years ago. Contact using new address: mtnmedic75 at gmail dot com https://bb.stee...

I have one of these that I bought several years ago. They are great players and very compact. I take mine on business trips to pass the time at night. I had to replace the ferrules and the tuners on mine, but I love it. Good luck.

I have a 2000 CIJ Tele with Rio Grande pickups. Is that butchering? I'm planning to have a forearm and belly cut done. Is that butchering? It's going to be done by the best luthier in western Colorado. Is that butchering? It will be hand modified by an expert craftsman certified by Fender and Martin...

Will ASCAP or BMI tax Bobbe Seymour?

Check out this newspaper article from the UK. By the way, the PRS is the "Performing Rights Society", not Paul Reed Smith guitars. http://www.macclesfield-express.co.uk/news/s/207/207169_its_a_fiddle.html Next thing you know ASCAP will be knocking on Bobbe Seymour's door everytime a custom...

I like the "tune in F and capo to G solution" for the one dobro musician, however I have not used my capo since I bought it from Paul Beard. If I had only one instrument I would actually use the 10th fret I, 3rd or 15th fret IV, 5th or 17th fret V, etc solution. But I have two dobros and i...

I use an SP-2 and a Pearce 10 string steel interchangeably on dobro, lap steel, Dual Pro and Gibson Console. I like the handiness and speed of the SP-2 and the sustain I get from the 10 string bar. If I could find an SP-2 design with about 3 times the mass, I would be a very happy camper.

This would make a great Christmas present for the Don Helms / Hank Williams fans. The guitar is in excellent condition and I'm going to lower the price to $799. Wouldn't you look good playing "Hey, Good Looking" for the wife on Christmas Day?

Most of my gigs these days are on bass, but I play dobro solo for a local community center acoustic show once a month. The audience is mostly in their 70s, but that is the population of the area also. I also play dobro with a bluegrass band at various festivals. I play my Dual Pro and Gibson Console...

I don't think I had seen your post, but I use the SP-2 and the Pearce Cyrogrenic 10 string bar interchangeably on both dobro and steel. The SP-2 is fast and easy to handle and the 10 string bar has much greater mass which I find results in better tone and sustain. Have fun.

I have several bars, but the two that I use most are my Shubb-Pearce #2 (dobro style) bar and my Pearce 10 String pedal steel bar. I like the Shubb-Pearce #2 because it is very easy to hold, almost part of my hand, I can move very fast with it and single noting, slants, hammer-ons and pull-offs are ...

I thought I would add a photo of my 1954 Walnut Dual Pro. I bought it from the original owner who gigged with it for 30 years in most of the Grange Halls within a hundred miles of here. Her 1942 near mint condition 0028 went to Japan for big bucks, but I managed to keep the Dual Pro here in its home...

I bought a 1954 Fender Dual Pro from the original owner a while back. I can't keep both and need a little extra cash for the winter. This Gibson is in the best condition, but the Fender saw every Grange Hall within a hundred miles for 30 years and I'm sentimental about local history. http://steelgui...

The black plastic between the necks is a loose piece that I use to put the picks and bar on and protect the finish. The pots are clean and operate smoothly. Most of my gigs are bass these days and the guitar has only been out of the house two or three times since I bought it in the Spring of 2002.

I have been guessing that it is from the late 1950s or early 1960s, but I don't know. The case is Samsonite and I don't think those started until about 1956, but I could be wrong. The pickups are humbuckers and have 8 slotted poles at the rear, each centered under a string, and 8 plain poles at the ...

I bought this guitar a few years ago here on SGF. It is in excellent condition and all original as far as I know. Even the case is in excellent condition inside and out. It has the original 4 legs and an additional set of modern legs with spring loaded buttons for extra security. $899 gets you a won...
