Rich Hinman’s Patreon has really high quality lessons that do a good job of mixing theory and technique with practical examples from classic recordings. It’s the best online instruction I’ve seen.

I use mine for both rehearsal and gigs but it's a stretch for rehearsals and you would absolutely need to be miced into a PA for gigs.

This is Stu Schulman's GS-10. I added two knees and did a number of upgrade/repairs to make it play more securely (the pedal stops had gouged deep holes in the wood ledge and the pedals felt crappy. I just lightly jab the pointy end of a Bic mechanical pencil in there. Works fine. I don't know why you'd need anything else.

This will be my first convention. Any advice on what to expect? I'm planning on bringing my steel and an amp - is that generally done? Are there jam sessions? Should I bring a bass for playing backup for others? Do people generally stay all day or do they come and go?
