Ricky is spot on. Jeff Garden's tab is as close to the real deal as you're going to find. He transcribed it verbatim. If you want a tutorial for the intro, watch Mickey Adams' youtube video.

Pete, I found a couple of things from Groove Tubes. I'll check a few more boxes for any Red's Royal Amp stuff I might have. https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix2020-03/18562_VH_1.jpg https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix2020-03/18562_Dual_75_1.jpg https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix2020-03/...

Fantastic playing, Pete. The photo looks like it was taken at Pink's in Hollywood. BTW, the article says that Red had played at the Palomino in Texas. The Palomino was on Lankershim in North Hollywood. Red lived about a mile and a half away. He took over as bandleader at the Pal when Gene Davis left.

Red lived two and a half miles from the Palomino on Lankershim. A number of folks crashed on his floor after the Pal closed for the evening, I imagine that would include a few members of this forum.

Fred, Red was also an early Member of the ACM Board of Directors. At the time, they were called the Academy of Country and Western Music. Red wasn't an astronaut, but he did play pedal steel in the movie, "The Right Stuff". Bill Conti won the Academy Award for Best Original Score and Red i...

When Gene Davis left the Palomino, Red took over as bandleader. In 1965, Red was the first person to win ACM's Steel Player of the Year. He was also nominated in '65 for ACM Bandleader/Band of the Year (Red Rhodes and the Detours); however, the award went to Buck Owens and his Buckaroos. That same y...
