"Somewhere Tonight" - Highway 101
Snow day again in NH so here's today's tab offering. "Somewhere Tonight" is off the album "Highway 101". Nice steel and chickin' pickin' guitar on lots of cuts. I notice both Jay Dee Maness and Tommy Spurlock are listed under "Special Thanks" on the album credits...anyone know who plays on Somewhere Tonight? Enjoy...comments and corrections are always welcome.
Here's the album cut on youtube:

Good job tabbing this out Jeff. Just for fun you might try using string 4 & 6 with the B pedal and then 4 & 5 bring in your A pedal on the intro. I could be wrong but that sounds like the strings he is using to me.
That took a lot of work and is certainly appreciated.
Keep up the great effort.

. . . who plays on Somewhere Tonight?
This is my wonderful, hit-making instrument, which you might have heard on my work with Highway 101 (Somewhere Tonight and others) . . . — Tommy Spurlock as posted by Gerald Pierce

Hi Lafe, thanks for your post.
I've experimented with a few copedents over the years but for all of the tab I post I've tried to keep things usable for folks with a fairly standard setup. The pedals and levers I've put in bold are what I use for my tab.
My personal setup right now is:
Pedals:
A: string 5 (+1), 10 (+1)
B: string 3 (+1/2), string 6 (+1/2)
C: string 4 (+1), string 5 (+1)
D: (Franklin pedal) string 4 (-1), string 5(-1) string 10 (-1)
Levers:
F: (LKL) string 4 (+1/2), string 8 (+1/2)
D: (LKR) string 4 (-1/2), string 8 (-1/2)
H: (LKV) string 5 (-1/2), string 10 (-1/2)
G: (RKL) string 1 (+1), string 2 (+1/2), string 6 (-1)
E: (RKR) half-stop string 2 (-1/2)
EE: (RKR) fully engaged string 2 (-1), string 9 (-1/2)

Highway 101 Player
I talked to my friend Tommy Spurlock last night, I asked him about this...His answer It was him on the recording. Jay Dee did some things on the album but "Somewhere Tonight" belongs to Tommy Spurlock!

Hi way 101
Buddie- Thanks clearing that up. I was thinking it was Tommy? Jeff thanks for the tab. Sure would like to see Tommy. I purchased my first D10 from him.. a red 1973 Sho-Bud Professional that he purchased new in Hollywood, I think? What a musician! RP
