Dave, Yes pedals on the right, volume pedal on the left. But the chart is not reversed. I realize it’s slightly confusing since I wrote the “right knee levers” on the left side of the page but they are the “right leg levers on the guitar”. Don’t really feel like re-writing the chart so I...

10 string universal copedent

Just thought I would share a 10 string universal "type" copedent that I have been playing for the last little while on my single neck. I think it gives you a great deal of everything encompassed on a D10. https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix2020-03/17400_IMG_0174_1.jpg Tuning is standar...

I just learned how to plug my guitar into garage band. I'm only 29 you think I'd now how previously  . Anyways now that I can make some half-way decent recordings I did these the last two days. The solos are mostly improvised, but I punched in on a few spots where I didn't like my first attempt...

Hey Karel, My D10 has 8 and 7 so I have the same copedent as the Justice minus the RKV and P5. On the D10 my "P8" I replaced the boowah changes with the P6 changes on the Justice (raising 3 and 7 a whole tone and string 1 a half). These changes have multiple uses for me. 1.Lots of availabl...

New Justice

Just received my new Justice S10 last week. It's a left handed C6 guitar. I wanted the pedal and knee lever placement to be towards the changer end, so that it is the same as on my D10. This thing is a really nice guitar! The mechanics and pedal action feel great (better than others I've played). Al...

I was a dobro player before I started on PSG. I haven’t given up one for the other, but as someone who plays a lot of high tempo bluegrass on dobro, I think it actually helps my PSG playing. So many folks utiliize somewhat minimal bar movement when playing PSG which is great in its own right, but ...

Hey Jeff, I’m a lefty too, there a few of us. I’m sure someone may chime in and say to play right handed because PSG isn’t like any other instrument since it requires the use of all your limbs. I wouldn’t let em sway you, if you play other instruments and are comfortable lefty stick with it....

Left handed D 10

Hi all, I know this is a longshot, but I am looking for a left-handed D10. I did see the lefty rack and barrel shobud that came up several weeks ago, but I don’t think that’s what I’m looking for... I only have a few criteria for the guitar. I’m open to any brand, but want an all Pull change...

I've seen quite a few people play this on C6 Pedal Steel. Not so much on Lap. I messed around with it quite a few different ways before settling on this. Both on E9 pedal (I don't have a double neck), and on Dobro capo'd at the first fret using open strings as if I was playing out of the key of A......

Black mountain rag

I noticed it's rare for folks to play this song on dobro, however I play it from time to time. I recorded a go of it on my cell phone. Sound quality is kind of poor and my playing could be cleaner, but I thought it might be fun to share non the less.

Bill no worries, but the major 3rd of the 6th chord is the b9 of the 1chord rootless voicing if u think about it.

The same string groups as you major grips will work. Lee is also right about diminished chords Jeffrey because the dominant and diminished are the same since that dominant voicing is rootless, but I was trying to keep it simple for u.

Hope that helps

Just raising the root a half step with that lever at the same fret as your no pedal 1 chord will give you a "6 chord" that is dominant. If you use that lever with the A pedal it will make that dominant chord a major triad. It's probably more useful in most cases to use that position 3 fret...

Thanks for the different responses from everybody: Bob Hoffnar: I totally agree with you about the quartal harmony available in E9. I would say this is more synomymous with modern jazz as opposed to bebop and the likes of players like Chris Potter(Sax), Pat Metheny, Joe Dioro, just to name a few. Th...

E9 vs C6 for jazz?

Hi, Young left handed steeler here in my mid 20's. Anyways I'm curious how much more beneficial having a C6 neck is for playing jazz. Let me elaborate: I'm experienced playing bebop and jazz on standard guitar. My current steel is a lefty single neck Fessenden 3x5. I feel like I've made some good st...
