I'd take it for $3000 if it was all orig and in decent nick. I bought a couple others in the past, an original one with case but an extra hole drilled in it for $2,000 and just a body for $900. No regrets! As well as being a historically significant instrument from possibly the world's most collecti...

Worth pointing out that this is NOT an A22 It is an early A25 with the thicker h/shoe magnets too. That makes this one of the earliest production fry pans, and a more valuable guitar than the "normal" A22. Condition is excellent, very little wear to the original finish and tuners appear or...

Regarding Erv's post about Fast Fret, yes brilliant stuff. Keeps my plain strings non rusted for well over a year in the tropics vs a week tops without it. A neat trick when the fast fret stick gets a bit dry is to drop in a fair few drops of mineral oil and let it soak in, and your fast fret is as ...

As per the news clip above it states Jules lived at 4019 Iwalani place. A quick Google throws up a photo of the house, built in 1953. So it is a treat to see where Jules lived before his untimely death. Nice to think the property looks similar now to how it did 60 years ago - https://www.zillow.com/...

I believe they are identical. I swapped a prewar bakelite Ric pickup for my A22 fry pan pickup and it fit fine. So long as they are both 1 1/2" horseshoes they should be interchangeable.

There are not so many Smeck-heads around these days, so value here is unlikely to be so high in cash terms. But, in terms of rarity and general interest there is plenty of value here. I have an old hardback Gibson book that states there is only 1 of these in existence but reading the Duchessoir book...

Appreciate your analysis on this version of this song. I have spent much time over the past couple of years trying to emulate Dick's playing here. I believe the reverse slant sounds closer to the original than the 12.5 suggestion, and as well as sounding (to my ears) more authentic it is certainly m...

The precise casting, open backed neck, and open back with cover is all very similar to Century cast aluminum guitars from Chicago which were made in late 30s. I'd hazard a guess this could have been a prototype from the Century factory and they decided it would be more stable with the "wings&qu...
