Question about Asleep At The Wheel

I just picked up their CD today titled "The Best Of Asleep At The Wheel", and have some questions about two of the songs on it. The two songs are "The Letter That Johnny Walker Read", and "The Trouble With Lovin' Today". Who is doing the steel work (is it Cindy Cashdoll...

Anybody know the dates for ISGC 2001?

Did anybody hear what the dates will be for the Steel Guitar Convention in St.Louis for 2001? I wasn't able to make the last show, but I am planning on going there next year. Thanks for any info.

What ever happened to Donna Fargo?

I was listening to one of her songs yesterday, and a few of us were wondering what ever happened to her as you don't hear anything about her. Is she still alive, and if so, is she doing any singing?

Gene Watson was fantastic!!!!!!

I saw Gene Watson perform last night at a place in Amity, Pa. called Rinky Dink's Roadhouse (probably the LAST honky-tonk in this area). I personally didn't care for the opening band, Big Guns, as they were too much of a rock band for my tastes. But when Gene came out, he put on one heck of a show! ...

Rick, you would use an 8 ohm to reduce it to 4 ohms. Just make sure you get a resistor with enough of aa power rating to handle what you're putting out. Another option is to hook another 8 ohm speaker in parallel with the first speaker (+ to +,- to -). This will also give you 4 ohms, plus with the &...

One of the sad "country" songs that come to mind, is done by an independent artist who lives near me. His name is Howard Vokes, and he did song titled "Empty Victory" which had Jeff Newman doing the steel. The song that I feel is the saddest one I know of, although not country, i...

One of the local independent stations in my area is playing a version by "Larry Cordell and the Lonesome Standard Time" band. They said they are still waiting for their copy of the Alan Jackson/George Strait duet of this song.

Looking To Share A Ride To ISGC!!!

For those of you going to the ISGC this year, I'll be leaving the Pittsburgh area and would like to know if there's anybody along the way who would be interested in sharing a ride to the convention. I'll be taking my truck (which you can see a picture on my website http://www.geocities.com/psgplayer...

Excellent COUNTRY radio station for those folks near the Pgh

For those people who live near the Pittsburgh tristate area, there is a station on the AM dial that you just gotta check out! The call letters are WKZV, and they are at 1110 Khz. They are out of Washington, Pa., and play tons of classic country and independent country artists. They are on from appro...

You are correct, John. You definitely want to use the hottest signal you can without distortion. This allows you to get well above the noise floor of the amp, resulting in a much cleaner sound. An amp WILL amplify noise as well as the audio signal. ------------------ Paul Stertz Blue laq. Mullen D10...

Rocky-have you checked with Jeanne and Bobbe Seymour at Steel Guitar Nashville? They sell Peavey items that are related to PSG. If they have it, I'm sure they'll give you a darn good price. They are listed in the links area of this forum. Also, if they don't have it, check with Wally's Sales and Ser...

Rich, the way the two inputs work on a Nashville 400 is this. The two inputs have a 10db difference when used separately. Input 1 would be the higher gain input of course. When both inputs are used simultaneously, the gains of the two inputs are equal. I can't speak for other amps, but that is how t...

Jim, I do know that if a CD-R is made on the home stereo CD-Recorder, that it has to be finalized before it can be read by other Cd drives, wether on a computer or a home CDor auto CD player. On a computer CD-R, there are a couple different modes used for recording. This allows you to use a CD-R for...

Changing speaker wire size on a Nashville 400

I recently made a few changes on my Nashvilles that I wanted to tell you folks about. First of all, I wanted to be able to use the amps as speaker cabinets to be used with a rackmount power amp. Obviously, the Nashville does not have a provision for this. I found that with a little trimming, a rackm...

Does anybody know where we can buy her other CD's? I looked for them online, but nobody seems to have a listing for her recordings. Her music is definitely done in the traditional country style.
