I've been watching the Austin City Limits home release library in hopes that this concert will be released. I do have "Live at The Britt" (1992) on DVD and it's very good.

Simpatico: Suzy Bogguss & Chet Atkins

Well worth re discovering. 1994 release. Feels like Superpickers with Suzy on lead vocal. Not a bad song on the project. This one will make you feel good.
Suzy has an outstanding voice.

The CD that I had just purchased is "The Best Of Buffy Sainte-Marie" which was originally issued on LP in 1970. It is basically her best material from 1964-1969 and I believe mostly Vanguard. The photo on the cover shows her reclining on some kind of Turkish day bed with a National guitar ...

Thanks for the tips. I think I'm going to try using one of those small Mackie mixers as
a microphone preamp when recording Dobro and guitar. Then I'll use the FX loop on the mixer to add just a bit of compression before recording.

Okay I can experiment with setting the ATT at -6db and see what kind of results I get when using the input gain level. I had been very happy in the past with the editing feature these machines offer. Generally when I master a mix using this machine I can get quality results using some analog equipme...

I'm aware not to run into the red on digital equipment. I find the microphone line level inputs on the VS offer very little room to find the sweet spot. One spec more or less gain in either direction can miss the sweet spot. Another feature I hate about the machine. I think my problem is with record...

Roland’s VS 1680 Studio Worksatation Would like your input on this machine, which debuted in 1997 or so. Tell you the truth I have had nothing but a hard time getting a quality sound from this machine. I’m about to give up on it, even my friend Jimmy’s Boss recorder sounds better. I guess Boss offer...

Yes, Dan Toler is back and he and Dickey are trading off some nice riffs and double leads on acoustic guitars. Hot! The band really swings. There's some hot fiddle and harmonica action too... and the flute is added on "Beyond The Pale" which is a Celtic piece. It's nice to hear the flute a...
