It's been a while since an album constantly sent shivers up the back of my neck... this one does.
This is Dickey Betts & Great Southern's newly released acoustic album..
plane and simple,
IT'S FANTASTIC.
It may be the best thing since "Highway Call."
Bett's proves.. he's The Real McCoy.
Sorry no pedal steel on this one... but there is plenty more to love.
Mike

Yes, Dan Toler is back and he and Dickey are trading off some nice riffs and double leads on acoustic guitars. Hot!
The band really swings. There's some hot fiddle and harmonica action too... and the flute is added on "Beyond The Pale" which is a Celtic piece. It's nice to hear the flute again.. reminiscent of that Marshall Tucker sound.
Their version of Dylan's "Tangled Up And Blue" is very nice... with a lot of Dickey's style added in.
If you like songs from "Highway Call" like "Hand Picked" and "Kissimmee Kid"
you'll love this new CD.
A lot of jazz swing here and acoustic blues.
The blues numbers are beyond authentic.
I think Dickey has a classic here.....
