Jeanie Sealy and Buddy Emmons

I don't know how to post videos on the forum so forgive me. I know you all have seen the one with Jeanie Sealy and The Big "E" doing Mr. Record Man. My question is, Who is the steeler on the Sho-Bud in the background.

Thu Moon and Jennings

Does anyone know the story of how Ralph Mooney and Waylon Jennings got together? They sure made some good music.

Warm Up Time

Something I have always wondered especially with the "Pros". Can you set down to your guitar "cold" and start cranking out the hot licks or do you have to warm up. I have to have at least 15-20 minutes of hard warm up or playing before I become halfway fluid with my playing.

Time Jumpers...Again

Just watched my new Time Jumpers DVD.... Work overtime, miss next months car payment, or pick up beer cans along side the road, but get this DVD!!!These guys are perfect. I would say that John Hughey steels the show on every break he takes. Ranger Doug on Navajo Trail,,, I didn't think anyone could ...

Just ordered the book.... I saw Reece at the TSGA show playing his MSA superslide. This guy can get more out of a lap steel than I can get out of a D-10 with 8 pedals and 6 knees!!!!!!!

Who's thu steeler

Do a You tube search for Shelby Lynn... Feeling Kind of Lonely Tonight. The audio is not all that great but the steel playing is something else. The steel player in the video is some long haired hippy looking dude playing a single neck Sho-Bud (Looks like) Anyone know who he is.... Anyone??? Anyone???

You're right Jim. Check You tube for the Wilburn Brother's song I'm Making Plans. I would post the link, but I don't know how. Curly makes a five beat slide up the neck of the old MSA without picking the strings and winds up down by the pickup. This is one of the smoothest E9th playing solos I've he...

Thanks Herby. I'm sure everyone on the Forum is in agreement with you. " Thu Shurriff" is the one and only Jimmy Capps. He's the one playing along with Curley Chalker on the Old Wilburn Brother's shows.

Time Jumpers

Heads up. Just watched the Time Jumpers on Larry's Country Diner on the RFD channel. They got some guy named "PAUL FRANKLIN" on thu steel. It is scheduled to rebroadcast at 3:00 AM in the morning so get your recorders set. (Just one thing.... I don't see how that girl can set there and stu...

Doug sure smokes it on this one. This is what C6th is suppose to sound like. Especially at 2:39. Sounds like a Joaquin Murphyish type of lick.

Thanks Gene for the info. As with Kevin's Pro III, mine was listed as blue but has faded to green. With the nine on the floor, Seven knees, and having been returned to the factory for a rebuild after only two years It kinda makes me wonder who the original owner was. The pearl inlay really looks nic...

scale question

Thanks for all the help guys. You have really cleared up a lot of my confusion. I am studying a C6th course and this will be a great benefit, especially about a C7th and a C Maj 7 being two entirely different chords. Thanks again.

Scale question

Trying to learn a little music theory and I have a question. Using the C Major scale as an example ( C,D,E,F,G,A,B, and C )with "C" being the root, "A" being the sixth note and "B" being the seventh, what is meant by the term ninth and thirteenth. Are these octaves of &...

New to the forum

Taught myself how to play on a Fender 400 back in the early 70's. Wound up with a Sho-Bud Pro III Custom which I still have. I haven't played in about 15 years. Found The Forum, Youtube, and The RFD channel which peaked my interest in playing again. I drug the ole Bud out of the closet, restrung in,...
