It was a really a special show. I didn't play, a friend of mine helped Brian Blade promote this show and the Fellowship show on Saturday at the Bagdad. Both shows were benefits for the Portland rescue Mission. Greg used one of my amps and some other gear. It was great, I got to hang out from noon to...

They recorded it, but I haven't heard yet whether they'll release it. There was some talk of a re-release of Wrecking Ball with live cuts, but I don't know if that will happen. They played that album in it's entirety that night. Great concert.

Greg Leisz and Daniel Lanois

I recorded this during rehearsal for an Emmylou Harris show in Portland last week. During a break, Daniel Lanois and Greg Leisz started jamming. I thought some of you might be interested.

Micky,

If you end up near Hood River, give me a yell and I'll buy you lunch, a beer, or both.

I bought this guitar used to see if I wanted to try and learn pedal steel.Turns out I did so I bought a Derby. This one's been sitting in the corner of my room all alone and needs a new home. Everything works. I have the documentation that came with it including the DVD that tells you which end to b...

Petersn VS-II Strobe Tuner

This is a Peterson tuner with the E9 and C6th presets, among other presets. Works great. I have the AC adapter and bracket that allows you to attach it to the leg of your steel. The end of the bracket that goes into the tuner got bent in my seat a little, but still works. $160 shipped to Continental...

I go to the beauty shop and have them paint acrylic stuff on the nails of my right hand. I've been doing it for years for guitar. It works great and if any of the ladies look funny at me I just tell 'em it make me feel pretty.

In defense of Tele players, we're not all idiots with Twins on 11. I have an Atomic Space Tone. 5 screaming little watts. That's all I need. I played a dance hall big enough to hold 1500, not that it did that night mind you, and it was fine. Check it out.

After 30 years as an Electrical Engineer, I now, in the words of Grady on Sanford and Son, have a wife and a TV and they both work. I work about 8 hours a week as the IT guy at a local Hospice, teach guitar lessons and play. So, basically I worked for 30 years in order to be able to afford to eke ou...

When I heard the original version of Walk Don't Run by Johmmy Smith it was a total revelation. It reminds of what Bach would play if he were a jazz musician.

I'm sure you've seen the interview with Willie where he said that that laid back style came from being loaded and coming in at the last possible minute because he was trying to remember the words.

If they really and truly do that, then they have way more available brain cells than me (maybe thanks to the Lost Years). I might occasionally think of something like that as just a fleeting thought, but it's sure not a regular thing or anything I'd try to do. When I play I'm just trying to sing thr...

I don't remember Ric, but the piece called "Capriccio Espagnol" builds in intensity through the last half, and last minute or 2 required 109 tracks to complete.
Mike, you are one truly obsessed individual. I love it.
