Have a lot of trouble w tuning stability on my 56 Fender Deluxe 8. Using a modified G13 tuning w low E and hi F, 15-56 string gauge.
Could it be my stringing technique? Are those recessed pans generally not stable?

After a few months of work the old eight string push poll that I purchased earlier in the year is up and running. I love the tone of the original pick up for the classic cutting Emmons country tone, with its string upper mid spike. But I don’t think that’s ultimately what I want out of this guit...

Just got a new Beard legend cone to replace the old cone in my 70s 8 string OMI dobro. Any advice on proper install techniques appreciated. I'm sure I can wing it fine, but any fine points of info appreciated.

And maybe flip the wiring on the pick ups so that the next pick up is the dominant part of the blend with the bridge being added in, as opposed to current wiring where the bridge pickup...

Gene Myers was the previous owner. His name is on the case and they gave me a cpl his old LPs w the sale. As for whether it's factory 8 or conversion, I'll defer to those more expert than myself. Personally I thought about that but saw pics of guitars set up similarly that weren't IDed as conversion...

I'm sure this has been beat to death, but couldn't find the thread. Got this old OMI model 60 or 63 8 string Dobro, spider cone. The cone has def seen better days. Sounds pretty good as is and is noise free now that I reset it, but I imagine it's q little tired. What do we love for replacement cones...

Primarily a six string Blues/RnB guy. Vintage tube amps, cool acoustics, stuff like that.
