Medium Chrome Strings for Lap Steel on sale

Amazon has Medium 13-56 Chromes on sale for $9. Just the mediums, other gauges are still $20. Not sure how long on sale, but a good deal if you use them.
I use these on my lap steels and the SGF doesn't sell them.

Gary S. Lynch, you are right about the Asher nut! Great improvement on the ADM guitar. My ears like the tone and this upgrade is the way to go. I have bone nuts on my Luna's but may install an Asher nut on one of them to compare. Thanks again for sharing this upgrade!

Gary, thanks for the info on the nut. I was going to order a Beard Dobro nut, but it looks like the Asher Tusq nut is the way to go. The ADM nut is a weak point on the guitar.

The idea for nose pads came from the Forum. I tried different pads and settled on the silicone. They make the fingerpick comfy. I haven’t had picks fall off but got tired and sore of the picks digging into my fingers. The pads keep my fingers pain free. I will try the fingernail polish as like the b...

Buddy Bar

I have been using the Buddy Bar by Tom Bradshaw for over a year now. I use it with my hollow neck lap acoustic steel guitars. It is a lighter bar than my metal tone bars and easy to move around the fretboard. I like the sound as it is quieter than a metal bar and glides across the strings. It may no...

Silicone Eyeglass Nose Pads for Finger Picks

I use nose pads on my metal finger picks. If you do this too, here is what I use. They are silicone, stick on, and stay in place, very comfortable. I realize everyone has a way to make picks work for them. This is my way. On Amazon: Silicone Adhesive Eyeglass Nose Pads - 20 Pairs Nose Pads for Eyegl...

Ezzee~slide Tone Bar or Clinesmith Polymer Bars

I have no experience with the Clinesmith Polymer Bars or the Ezzee~slide Tone Bar. Any recommendations for one or the other? Or is there another bar of this type that you like? I just play for fun and wanted to try a different type of bar.

Sweetwater has Nationals in Nickel ($22) or Stainless Steel ($11). I will check out the Hoffmeyer's and some brass Dunlaps and maybe splurge on the nickel Nationals. Thanks everyone for the information!

National Finger Picks

I have been using the National finger picks NP-2. I need to buy some new ones and founds there are two models, nickel and stainless steel. Is there a difference tone wise? Price wise the nickel is twice as much. I tried the Dunlap but something feels off when I use them, probably it is just me! So, ...

I tried the Tony Rice model strings on my plywood ADM weissenborn. I like them and improved the sound. I put the EFT17 on a solid top Luna Weissenborn. I like my strings after they have been used for awhile and liked the dullness of the flat tops. It is like putting old strings on that still stay in...

D'Addario Flat Tops Acoustic Guitar Strings EFT13 Resophonic

Has anyone used D'Addario Flat Tops Acoustic Guitar Strings EFT13 Resophonic 16-56 strings for a Weissenborn. I use a 15 and a set of Dadarrio EJ-17 . I use ACEGBD on the other Weissenborn. This gives me GBDGBD, GDEGBD and ACEGBD. 15,17,...
