Terry Bethel
Very sad day at our house. Terry and I have been friends for 70 years. We took Steel lessons together in Flint Michigan, had a little trio when we were kids, stayed at each others house, and stayed in touch all these years. It hurts to know he's gone. Chuck Rich

Freeman Cowgar
Hi Jim: I remember Freeman very well. We worked together for about three years at the Wayside in Detroit. I played Steel and Freeman played Bass in the group. He was also a very good Steel player. We remained friends after I moved to Cincinnati and until he passed away. Chuck Rich

Hi Ethan: I think the Charles Adams you are referring to was better known as Chuck Adams. I knew him well in the 50's. We took lessons from Russ Waters in Flint Michigan. Chuck was my first hero. He was a very fast and clean player. He went with Dusty Owens (also from Flint) to DesMoines, Iowa, and ...

Hi Jack, I did take lessons from Russ Waters in the early 50's. He was a very good teacher and had over 200 students at one time. Some others you might remember from that time was Chuck Adams, Jim Baker, Terry Bethel and Don Rauch. Terry, Don and I have kept in touch all these years. Terry has been ...

Jimmy Murrah
Hi Allen, The fellow you describe as Jim Murray, I think is Jimmy Murrah. I first met him in Detroit around 1956. He was a super player. At that time he was playing a triple neck Fender, and was very fast at single string things. I was working with Casey Clark at the time and would go hear him at va...

Dumpy
Mike,
I don't remember who all was on the session from Cincinnati. Sad to say Dumpy Rice (I used to call him Lumpy Corn) passed away about 4 years ago. He was a great guy and a very creative keyboard player.

I have a Dobro, and I replaced the neck with an 8 string neck years ago. It turned out great, but I no longer have the Dobro decal on the head stock. Would anyone know where I could find a Dobro Decal?

I also have a Vega that I would like to date. Mine has the same logo as Mark's but is shaped a little different. It has two horseshow magnets under the pick up. On the body of the guitar under the PU I found a serial #35483 I'm assuming this guitar was made sometime in the 40's. The case has the nam...

I have a 1953 Fender stringmaster quad, and also a 1952 custom double neck. Under the keyheads of both guitars is the name Babe. Michael Allen of Fresno Ca. informed me that Babe was Babe Simoni.
