Mullen Steel Guitars makes a versatile bracket that might be a good place to start. It holds the pedal close to the pedal bar, but could be attached to an extender plate to move the vp back a bit.

Another consideration with the pedal steel version is the low profile option. Depending upon ankle flexibility, steel type and your posture one or the other may be a better fit.

I use the HX Effects rather than the stomp because I don't need the amp Sims. It seems they mostly model distorted tones. I've always been a clean amp guy with pedals for dirt so the HX Effects works well. There are so many eq options that you can emulate Peavey-like clean tones very effectively. I ...

Check, or have a tech look to see if the pot is wired correctly. Log pots are designed to correct for the way our hearing detects volume. The ear is very sensitive to volume changes at low levels, but not so much as volume increases. If the pot is wired backwards the rapid change will be at low volu...

He played pedal steel with a ...

This has been my favorite thread in a long time. I switched to this tuning in fall 2019 and Johnny was kind enough to spend some time with me at the 2020 Dallas show giving me a short demo :whoa: and offering copedent advice. Thank You Johnny. My first pedal steel was a double neck and I found I did...

Don't plug it in and turn it on until it's been gone over by a tech. The filter caps are surely bad and turning it on may damage the circuitry. I've seen too many "found" old amps damaged this way, 'cuz it really is everyone's instinct to turn it on and see if it works!

Brad could give a better answer, but I'll try. A buffer or buffered pedal has an active stage that strengthens but, does not necessarily amplify, the signal and lowers the impedance of the output of the device. The buffer part usually has little effect on the sound. The Freeloader differs by allowin...

It is so sad to hear of JB's passing. I got to know him through the Denver Steel Club. My wife, a big Dead/Riders fan, and I were just talking about how much we enjoyed his influence on Country Touch's catalog.
I hadn't heard he was ill 'till now.
    Rest in peace John.
