This link has blonde twins, cows, cowboy country and their playing Ghost riders in the sky! You even see a cowboy boot doing a pedal 'bend'

I fear they are serious!

Hi Alex I'm using Logic / Mainstage. I thought the Gio would be ideal as its made for that. I don't like the Duet as its very expensive here in Scotland and the cable breakout puts me off. I have had all sorts of computer front ends over 25 years! Recently been using a Tascam US122 cheap & relia...

Apogee Gio

Anybody tried one of these? I have one and I'm using it for practice/recording on a Mac using headphones. Sounds too bright on guitar and the PSG sounds horrible on headphones which I need to use to avoid divorce. Any suggestions for to calm it down or for a replacement? My Tascam interface seems to...

The way I used my 1202 was to hook the ALT 34 outputs to the input of my interface. The mute button on each channel directs to Alt34 when engaged. You can run all your sources and the output of the interface into the mixer inputs and simply press mute on the channel(s) you want to record. Made every...

I haven't had a TV for five years but I watch TV on my iMac computer. I use a USB tuner made by Elegato and it works great. I tend to look at the schedules, choose what I want and let the computer record it then watch when I want. Very easy. Elegato make a tuner that uses your wireless router to sen...

No gripe James and I would add that you have always been very helpful answering posts I have made regarding my Sho Bud, its just impatience. I look forward to getting the new changer fingers as all your parts look great in this thread and I’m sure they will give my steel a new lease of life. However...

James,

How are the changer fingers coming along? I ordered and paid them in July and I am getting a bit fed up waiting!

I made a simple aluminium plate with holes for the ShoBud mount screws and springs and holes to mount this E66 on the plate.

No hum and sounds good to me.

My copedent loses the D string and adds a G# on 10 so I just hook the bungee cord from the leg to the Eb lever and play non pedal C6.

Once you have your files on a hard drive, back them up on CDs. Hard drives can fail! If you back the files up as data you can get a lot on a CD and loads on a DVD

Thanks for the advice guys. David hit it on the head, I don't have a C6 neck. My E9 copedent is already leaning toward a Uni and I was looking for a short cut to see what the other pedals will do. Then do I try to add pedals to my Sho Bud, buy a D10, or a 12 string Uni? Finding one in Scotland is no...

Can anybody point me to a thread that explains the chords and runs that the pedals give you on C6 or Uni. I have played E9 a while now but don't play country and would like to study before buying another steel!

I got one but didn't keep it long. Its monophonic (only plays one note at a time) works well with sax or even a recorder but not great for guitars.

Midi works with keyboards would be my thought!

I'm pretty sure I had a VHS video of this and while I am a great fan of Sarah's steel playing she only played one tune on PSG if I remember well. The rest showed versatility rather than talent. Recorded in my home town of Aberdeen too.

If you got a Mac then why not get Logic? A Mac's strength is the integration of hardware/software. Apple makes Logic. The system drive on your MacBook will handle ten tracks easily. If your getting more complex than that then you will find a big screen very useful! So grows your studio.

Sho bud volume pedal

I've been swapping things around and discovered that I am losing a lot of signal volume with my pedal even at the full up setting. It works well with no crackel so I'm loath to fix it if it ain't broke but I'd like the full signal from my pick up. I wondered if the string wasn't twisting the pot ful...

Anybody out there plugging their PSG direct to Logic or Mainstage? I can get great sounds with guitars and a host of other instruments but I find I need to use my Micro Cube as a pre amp to get an aceptable tone for my PSG. Anyone got any suggested settings?
