I couldn't see very well whether there were grooves filed in the bridge. One set of plans I have show grooves filed so the top of the strings were in the same plane. Your thoughts?

Can Anyone Help Identify This Guitar

My Dad played this guitar Hawaiian style back in the 30's. He had a Hawaiian band and my Mother played also. The guitar is a Regal that has a nut to raise the strings. Can anyone give me some more information on this guitar. I haven't been able to find out anything. When I query Regal, all I get is ...

Confused about C6 chords

Beginners question? I seem to be doing OK with melody's but am really confused about chords using C6 tuning. In Scotty’s Basic C6 non pedal book it shows for example the C chords as being like this: [tab] E--------------------12---0--------8-----12 C---0---4---7---12---12---0---7------------ A------...

I have the same problem mainly with the fretted G (base) string above the 5th fret or so. I am using GHS strings and tuned to GBDGBD. The guitar was set-up by Tim Scheerhorn a few years ago using his nut and bridge/spyder and quarterman cone. That string on the 7th fret sounds dead. Other strings so...

Because his place features local musicians and covers are rare, he didn't think he had to pay the musicians and publishers group an estimated $2,000 to cover performances of copyrighted tunes.

What are covers ? ?

Well guys, I didn't mean to stir up such a controversy. This is my first atttempt at building such a project and the plans are from a book, hence the 22.5" scale length. I am a woodworker and am not worried about that end of it. The written description in the book was a little vague and I wante...

Pick-up Location

I am building my first lap steel and am a little confused about where to locate the pick-up (single coil). The scale length is 22.5". Is there a formula to determine the best location? Or should I just wing it?

Thanks

Your local bowling alley should have little jugs of pro-grip. That is what I use. Keeps the bowling ball on my fingers too.

New Window Size

When I open a new window, it doesn't open full screen. I have to maximize it. This just started happening. Normally a new window opens maximized. Try sirius.com or xmradio.com to get the lowdown. Now, you can listen to eminem or Smashing Pumpkins all day, totally uncensored, commercial free for about $12 a month. Howard Stern is probably right, it is the wave of the future. I can't imagine what Sirius paid him but his move to Sirius will real...
