Ya know, Burns has a good idea...getting a modeling setting for the NV400. Maybe one of your gearheads in the R&D Dept. can tell us which setting on the Vypyr comes the closest so far. I will probably pick up the Peavey in a few weeks...so I will let you know how it works. Fact is I also have to...

Buying a Peavey amp other than the Nashville series?

Maybe the Peavey rep that is a Forum member can answer this. Besides Steel, I also have a Fender B-Bender. I am sure the Fender would sound just great through the Nashville 112. But because I have a guitar, I would like more versatility...like having crunchy distortion pre-sets and such. the Peavey ...

Great...thanks....just pulled up your site and will go through it. I just noticed that you had a very thick sound and the strings sounded extra, extra crisp. As a former guitarist I used to be aboe to deaden wound stirngs in about ten minutes. I ended up using the polymer coated strings on my B-Bend...

That is also a great sound. What kind of guitar, amp and strings are you using. It is an excellent recording - are you using ProTool or something like that?

Worth of a Carter S10?

I have been gone too long to know what things cost anymore and could not find something completely relevant in the history here.....but I will probably sell my Carter S10 that is about 5 years old. Single/three pedals/5 knee levers and it is a "one under" that Ann had built for me - it loo...

I started with the three E9 CD's on Paul Franklins site. It took me six months to get it all down. Then I got the Winnie book. Damn, I think I did it all backwards. Playing Londonderry Aire after beginning with Franklin's "Uptempo Chord Playing" was surely a breeze.

A lot of the crossover stuff (Twain, Hill, etc.) is making it to the charts with the steel intact. But I had to laugh during the Eagles/Bears playoff game today when the new Coors Lite ad came on....it is the big Brooks & Dunn hit from last year in which the steel dominates all the other instrum...

That is what I do for a living. I have had a jingle company for 20 years. I knock on advertisers doors, write and sell all of them myself. AMA Awards/Brooks & Dunn/Bouton

Such tiny pieces steelers get in the "Pop" World. Re: Steel in the AMA Awards...a few shots, just to show there was something making noise in the background, (Toby Kieth) Represented was the suprising Country "Song of the Year," by Brooks & Dunn. A mediocre piece of writing, ...

my old lap steels

I have an ancient Rickenbaker...six string, all grey metal....think it is an electro.....
I also have an 8 string blonde/white Fender lap (someone broke the legs when they took them completely apart)
serial #000882. It has original leather and tweed case.
Anyone know how old these might be?
