Buying a Peavey amp other than the Nashville series?

Maybe the Peavey rep that is a Forum member can answer this.
Besides Steel, I also have a Fender B-Bender. I am sure the Fender would sound just great through the Nashville 112. But because I have a guitar, I would like more versatility...like having crunchy distortion pre-sets and such.
the Peavey Vypyr 2x12 Tube Modeling amp has all those effects. I wonder if this amp series would also be just as good for the steel as the 112.
I am looking at Peavey because the advantage of the 112 seems to be mostly a speaker that is designed for the sound steelers want. I am wondering if the speakers in the 2x12 would be "close enough."

Kevin, I have an old Peavey Stereo Chorus 400 amp in the 2-12 configuration which sounds great for either lead guitar or steel. It has two channels in which both instruments can be plugged into separately and also EQ'd separately. Glad to hear another B-bender player on the Forum. Here's a shot of my old Tele with a P/W bender and some other stuff!........JH in Va.

The VYPYR 212 "might" work well for your application. To be honest, I haven't considered any other amp for steel guitar other than our Nashville and Session series. But, the VYPYR is pretty amazing when modeling Peavey and competitor guitar amplifier, but not so much a steel amp.

However, the VYPYR has a "Twin" preset that it pretty convincing(as all of the other presets are). For guitar, the VYPYR is the one. Try it for steel and let us all know.

I have been asked about a new Peavey steel amp and there is a new amp 'in the works', but it will be sometime before it is available.

Hey Mike Brown. I have often wondered why the modeling amps don't have a Nashville 400 setting. There are most likely as many of us that play several instruments and would buy this. I'm sure that most folks that use a modeler never listen to half of what it has anyway. It wouldn't offend the metal head kids to have one more sound on the amp, and it would benefit steel and fiddle players greatly. It looks to me like a virtual Nashville 400 and the right EQ and a 15" JBL simulation (which could also be used on the twin simulation) in a modeling amp the size of a Nashville 112, should be no big deal to do.
I love your amps. I don't like heavy things. Most of my playing is a single neck e9. I have several amps, but the one I take out these days is an older Bandit. With a mellower speaker, than the scorpion it came with, it sounds pretty good, and is loud enough for most of what I do, and it is fairly old-fart-back friendly. But, if this had the EQ versatility of a nashville, and the sounds available in a digitech RP 150 or such, it would really not be much of a compromise to me at all.
If these features are already available on an amp, please tell us about it.

Ya know, Burns has a good idea...getting a modeling setting for the NV400. Maybe one of your gearheads in the R&D Dept. can tell us which setting on the Vypyr comes the closest so far.

I will probably pick up the Peavey in a few weeks...so I will let you know how it works. Fact is I also have to pick up a Schecter guitar with the Vypyr as well so I can get those screaming dark sounds that Avenged Sevenfold has on their CD's.
I assume those tones are in there too.

I know that getting an A7Fold sound as well as a NV series tone is a lot to ask but I do not want to buy two amps right now. That is why I need to go with a modeling amp.

I am sure your reassurance that there is a successor to the NV112 is of huge interest to all steelers...but I think some were expecting something sooner than you are indicating.
