C'mon Charlie, we all knew that one, Love Song, wasn't it? I'm stretching back a few years, but I clearly remember that...buxom girl- I recall that she was described as"zaftig" at the time. Crikey! TW3!

Just for informational purposes and closure ,I ended up buying a 60's Harmony archtop on eBay, about $90 including shipping. It needs a tailpiece, bridge, tuners, and strings, most of which I have or can make. This is for utility, and hankering, not for a collection, so I can get by cheap if I choos...

Joey- I'm not much of a steeler, but that bar looks miniscule to me. Mine's a 15/16, which is substantially bigger than my fingers- and that bar looks to me about the size of a ballpoint pen in those photos. Unless his fingers are HUGE. IMHO Image

Steven- I'm not faniliar with the material to which you're referring, but drilling the cross shaft holes in aluminum angle is not one of the more complex tasks in building a pedal steel. Unless the pre-drilled holes are already the right size and have the right offsets, you'll have to compensate in ...

Lee, we have hankerings up here-powerful hankerings- we're just a little reluctant to talk about 'em! This by way of a bump- doesn't anybody have an archtop that's "old and in the way"? Image

Thanks for the recommendation, Bill. That's just more money than I can justify for a hankering! Maybe if it was an outright yearning.... I like to tinker, that's part of the fun!

Harmony archtop?

I've got a hankering for a cheap archtop guitar, maybe a Harmony or the like. I'm not necessarily looking for a collectors item. Got anything?

The 12 inch width you mention you mention may be the culprit. Around here, curly maple is about $6 a board foot, but I don't see much that's 12 inches wide with good figure. Good luck!

Thanks guys- I was hoping for an easy fix, but I sort of suspected that it was just getting sloppy. I'll have to see what I can patch in. Hopefully its got some inputs on the back. I don't require the carousel, but it would be nice to pop in a CD and have it play on demand!

Hi Jack- it does it with any CD, commercial or burned. I just don't know how these devices work to be able tojudge whether it's an electronic glitch, or a dirty sensor, ...or something else. I'm just hoping the collective genius of the Forum has an answer!

CD changer blues

I have an Aiwa stereo unit with a 3 CD changer. It's about 5 years old. The issue is that sometimes when I put a CD in, the changer will rotate around and around, unable to locate the CD. Is there a fix for this? I tried a lens cleaning disc, but it didn't fix it. Is this a "Replace it,it's pas...
