I made a typo....It is a CMI!! Charles and I are friends and when he made his first D10, I immediately had him make me one. It was his second production, and I have had it since. I had a Nashville 400 and the two instruments made a great sound, but I have had to downsize weightwise. I now am using a...

Bill: That is a Gibson Electroharp. I owned one of these in about 1958 and played it for about a year. The lowering mechanism was not good and required that several "stops" adjustments be activated on each adjustment bar to prevent lowering any strings except the one(s) you wanted. This ha...

Fender dbl 8 non-pedal, legs and case

John Bechtel: I apologize. My first post is further down this page with the complete description (same topic name) but no pictures. I was having trouble uploading them. When I did add the pics, I accidentally added them as a new topic, which is shown here without the description. Thanks to Jamie, he...

Fender dbl 8 non-pedal, legs and case

This guitar still plays beautifully and is complete with 3 legs and case. It has been refinished on top, and the volume and tone controls and neck switch work perfectly. The chrome on the pickups was worn and someone finished the tops with a black "crinkle" paint...I intended to have them ...

Rittenberry or GFI ultra S10 - what would you choose and why

I just bought a 2009 Rittenberry S10 and have to agree with all the Rittenberry group. I have a CMI D10 with 8 & 7 and age has dictated I must get lighter weight. I am a retired mechanical engineer and the design of the mechanisms underneath pedal steels is a major issue to me. I shopped the For...

That goofy song was one of the ones that got us on the Louisiana Hayride in 1952. Thanks for posting it. It proves that country music has made big changes since then (better or worse?)

Mitch: Boy...the pic and record brings back memories! All three of us sang on GOOD OLD CHLORIPHYLL. You may post WOMEN DRIVERS if you wish. The comedy songs we did were more effective live than on record. We did a lot of Sons of the Pioneers also. I did not know Roy Harris. I wish I still had that F...

Louisiana Hayride staff band steelplayer

Mitch is right. I played steel with the Rhythm Harmoneers in 1952 and '53, and Felton was playing staff steel. He did play some for Hank Williams, but there were 3 guys that Hank hired to form his band: Jimmy Day, Floyd Cramer, and Tommy Bishop (lead guitarist....and a good one!) We joined the Hayri...

2009 Rittenberry

Hi Weldon, I am looking for a nice S-10 like yours. I am playing a CMI D-10, 8 and 7 and love it, but it is too heavy for me to handle any more (age is hell). In fact I have already traded my N400 for the N112. I would appreciate the following: 1. Price (shipping??) 2. Weight in the case and case we...
