It seems like everyone plays Weissenborn in open D. I love it, but it may be over used.

Are there players that use other tunings?

I guess they're throwing it on at a high price trying to find a sucker to buy.

The sellers are probably looking at what the pro models are going for, then pricing from there.

Or they know, and are greedy.

Are the prices I'm seeing on eBay and Reverb for real? I've been out of the steel guitar for about 5 years. They were like $400-700 at that time.

One thing I noticed is that it seems harder to find used parts, like on ebay.

Would it be better to be a full on parts maker, and only make a few steels a year?

It seems as if there aren't as many builders as there one was.

Can anyone enlighten me on how lexan fretboards are made? Is the art work for the fretboard glued to clear lexan, or it it printed on the lexan?

I guess either, but prefer upside down.

Didn't realize a difference 'till I did a web search.
