I've seen a lot of chatter recently on the forum with folks using Kemper's. Just wondering if any others that haven't chimed in here are using Tonex now? How is it working for them? What profiles are they using for steel? Etc...

I am off this weekend and don't know of anyone playing to point you at. I do hope you find something/someone.

The TONEX looks a good unit, but are there any high quality modern amplifier profiles which can be purchased ? I am thinking the likes of Milkman, Little Walter 89, Quilter etc, not vintage amps like fender twin reverb. It would seem that making your own high quality profiles is not that easy, and ...

I received mine and messed with it for a couple days but ended up returning it. I'm hoping the sess 400 I just ordered works out better for my need.

My specific goal for the sess 400 is to put it on my pedalboard and go ampless for the casino gigs that have their own sound engineer and we all use IEM's anyway. I tried the UA Dream65 for that purpose and didn't care for it. Going ampless is new to me and I'm sure it will take some getting used to...

Boo, my whole band uses the Dream 65 for fly dates. I use one channel for steel and the other for Tele. Colored vs uncolored probably wasn't what Jack was actually getting at. He was just stating that some of the new amps have a very different frequency response range than amps of earlier vintage and using low capacitance cables in the chain to the newer amps provides a very brittle and harsh high end...

Thanks for doing that test/comparison and providing the report that you did. I really want to go more lightweight but it sounds like I will keep dragging around the Vegas 400 or the twin for now. There will come a day when I'm forced to lighten the load but I'm not there yet.
