G&G will build you a new case with original style covering and liner. They gave me a price of $250+ship on a case for a '62 Deluxe 6 last January. However, something came up and I didn't order it. You will have to supply dimensions. For a T8 I'm thinking the price might reach the $400 mark. http...

Even though you did a great job routing the pickup
cavities, these may help in the future.

I wanted to bid on this to go with the Deluxe 6 my son has. Still, like Mitch I felt it needed the badge. Also, that striping had me worried. I looked very close at the pics and it appeared (to me) there had been some re-finishing on the bottom. No matter it's no longer available. Pulled with no bids.

Well it certainly looks like a Jedson. But I think the name badge would be important here. Is there a name badge somewhere or other marks to confirm it.

Love it when a plan works!

So last night my son opened the Deluxe 6 I found a couple of months ago.
He was overjoyed! Seems he and his band members were just discussing
adding some steel in the mix. He also loves it's very played condition. Good
thing I listened to the advice I got here about refinishing.

Merry Christmas all!

I saw that one too. Obviously from a multineck model.
Did they include the diamonds to cover the rod holes
on the side?

I thought it was going to go for a bit more so I
didn't bother. Glad I didn't knowing a forum member
got a good deal.

Congrats!

Here's a Dual Professional on ebay. There is a close
up pic of the bottom that shows the orientation of
the leg sockets.

I understand your problem. If the screw holes on the new sockets aren't drilled at the same offset relative to the center hole, the legs won't extend at the proper angle. Lay the guitar face down and re-install the original mounting flanges. Screw an original leg in one flange. Make two cardboard an...

Double six - not mine

Saw this one on ebay. I've only been into steels a short while but have noticed these don't show up often.

The simplest from Lehle. Very quiet, has quiet switch
and single LED. My son has an older Lehle A/B/Y
switch and loves it.

For me this thread is so coincidental. First I enjoyed the video. So nice to see young groups playing this style of music rather than what I call "Screamer" music. Recently I bought my 19 year old a Deluxe 6. It's going to be a Christmas present. After reading this thread I asked him if he...

Deluxe 6 came today

The Deluxe 6 came in to day and of course the first thing I did was take it apart. Under the tuner pan was just the number 8 in grease pencil. All wiring looks original and no markings on the pickups. The pots date as follows. Pickup balance pot 304645, 1956 45th week Tone pot 3046222, 1962 22nd wee...

Doug, I figured that about Heritage. I emailed them and got the auto reply. Funny how there's no problem with them sending out auction notices. Of course I know those are automatic. Guess I hit the Etsy auction at the right time. It was the "Deal of the day". $75 cheaper than the Craigslis...

Actually I was the one with girl priority syndrome when I was his age. With him the girls come second to the music. Given a choice of band practice or date, band practice will take it every time.

Still...When that special someone comes along everything could change.

Ron - Thanks. As far as getting on the forum, I've tried to impress upon him the knowledge he can gain from others but it's not his thing. Not that he is arrogant and thinks he knows it all but he doesn't even get on Facebook that much. Reality is, at 19 with school, working at a music store, practi...

A long shot but hoping for info on this Deluxe 6

I have this Deluxe 6 coming. The seller (a non player) knows nothing about it's history. It obviously has seen it's share of playing time. Because of that I'm assuming a previous owner was an accomplished steel performer and hoping they might be a member on this forum. The Serial #(?) is 918. I know...
