Had the pleasure seeing Danny with Gene and the FP band on June 14 at a little theater in Sandstone Minnesota. Really Great show. Would like to have been able to say Hi to Danny but just too many people and it was getting late. Maybe nest year. I have been a big Gene Watson fan since 1975.

Had the pleasure of hearing Don play with a band at the White Horse Saloon in Austin in March and then again with Dale Watson two nights later at the Broken Spoke. Also had a chance to visit with him for a little bit. He is a great steel player and a truly nice person.

In the video of Hank singing, A Fool Such As I, That is Gerald Merhar. He also played steel for Loretta Lynn in the early 60's, was with Faron Young for less than a year and also played for Charlie Louvin.

That's Gerald Merhar. He's my neighbor and a good friend. I showed that video to him one night and he said yep that's me.

I am presently taking lessons from John Ely up here in northern Minnesota and he is still playing an old Fender. Sounds really good too.

I am actually from the Grand Rapids area and am very much a beginner but would like to get together just to learn. Would really appreciate just being around other steel players. My skill level is such that I couldn't help but learn something.

Who is playing steel on Kenny Chesney's recording of Away In A Manger. It was posted on You Tube in November of 2008. I don't know when it was recorded.

All of the Buck Owens and Wynn Stewart recordings with Ralph Mooney on the steel. Love it!!!

About a month for me.

Billy, The Blackjack is all pull on the changer and the body is wood laminate. Hope that answers your question. I'm not to savvy on the technical aspects of a steel guitar.

Zane, I just got a brand new Blackjack. I am very much a beginner but hope to be able to play it someday. It sure is pretty.

I'll tell him you asked about him. He is trucking over the road so I only see him about once a week but I talk to him on the phone two or three times a week.
