012 on Emmons

You won’t have any problems with the 012 gauge. I have been using it for years with no problems at all. I use it on my Legrand and pushpull.

Excellent

I agree with Russ, that is a great solo and to my knowledge no pedals are used. Another song that is a great song played with so much emotion is “ Someone to watch over me” played by Mr Russ Hicks. I about wore out that CD from listening to it! Especially the ending. What a player!!!!

That buzz sound usually means the string is about to break. Good strings adds so much to sound and sustain. I change my plain strings every three days and the wound strings once a week with the exception of the C6 bass strings. I will use those two weeks. It is an expense, but it will really help th...

:) I knew Gene for alot of years and we were good friends. I still have one of his thumb picks and the handle that came loose from his case. Gene got that sound by hitting the string almost right on the changer. It was more of a hard tap. Gene had a great aggressive attack. He told me that your tone ...

:D Gene always used a red pinstripe bar towel because it didn't have any lint on that kind of towel. Another interesting point was that Gene did not have his floor pedal raise his 4th and 5th string which is typically on the 3rd pedal, he always told me that it made more sense to have that on as a k...

My friend, you are not alone. One thing that has helped me with this problem is how the stage is set up. First,I use a direct line out from my sound system to the mains. I only have the sound going to the main PA system and not the stage monitors. That way it is not to loud on stage. Then I never nev...
