I've done it my own way, largely because I don't really know the tune, so there's a fair bit of ad lib in it

It makes sense to first have a firm grasp of the melody line of a song. Mike Zigler's version is spot on, as well as the vocal version by Bobby Flores. Email me and I'll send you the Bobby Flores version.

Agreed.....But then, what's the point in 3 minutes of tuneless noodling over chord changes, as posted on Youtube? The melody line has not been established. Thus, the following improvisation lines comes across as just noodling.

You're version is just as good as the rest of them,
and it's the also way I'd like to be able to play it.
You fellows are all so good, there's no need to compare.
The only difference I see is in your styles, and you
all play what you feel so well, and that's what I like.

Hi Richard, did you have that Hayman? I always wanted one but settled for a telecaster amongst others. Yes they were good guitars....very telecasterish in tone. I had a Bass player who had a Hayman...he loved it, but it was a Tad heavy. I bet there's a few of those Hayman's under people's beds now gathering dust. They must be pushing 40 years old now. If I saw one for sale I'd be after it
