Thanks for the nice comments! Yes, it sure was a labor of love ... and extremely fun to do. Earlier this year I had a conversation with a steel guitar colleague who suggested that someone should do Birdland on pedal steel. I first thought "no way, that's no doable", but after making some attempts to play it with my band, and being pleased with the sound of it, I took on the challenge.
This recording, as is evident, is not a live track. It is in fact only drums, acoustic bass and about of dozen overdubs with my Fulawka. No other guitars, keyboards or electric basses were being used. This, of course, leads to the next challenging task: how to arrange it for my four-piece band to be able to play it live ...
