
Near-Field studio monitors

Near-Field studio monitors
Somebody recommend a pair of near-field studio monitors that wont bankrupt me. I don't need powered as i have a power amp. Thanx in Advance.....

These are 5" monitors. From what I've read, they have reasonably good ratings. I bought a pair myself. Haven't heard them, but at this price point and very little space I'm going for 'em. The price @ $99.00 is "each." So the pair will only cost....well, you do the math

And yes, these are Powered speakers...although I believe these are basically Studio Monitors. May I ask...what does the "near field" mean?

Near-Field Speaker: a compact studio monitor designed for listening at close distances, typically between three and five feet. When sitting at this near-field distance, the listener hears a greater proportion of direct sound from the monitors (compared to the reflected sound bouncing around the room) so, in theory, the effects of poor room acoustics are greatly reduced.May I ask...what does the "near field" mean?
