My favorite is Bobby Garrett's Charmaign on the Live at the Texas State Fair album. Hank Thompson had a band that was incredible back in the day. And of course my dad's Rose City Chimes is something special to me. Thanks for mentioning his work.

Probably my favorite would be "Cherokee"
as far as to listen to. My second farorite would be anything done in the style of an obscure steel player named Bobbe Seymour!

"All I Have Are Memories", a beautiful instrumental with Lloyd Green on steel (and Clarence White on tele), from the Byrds' Sweetheart Of The Rodeo, 1968.

Eric, "Rose City Chimes" was named after Bobby Garrett's home town, Tyler Texas, known as "The City of Roses".

Now, which is your favorite song to play?

Mike Weirach, you are still hilarious, Ed Naylor? You kill me! Ha! Ha! Lamar Green and Elmer Charlton huh? What about Bruce Garrish or Harold Lee Chalker?
[This message was edited by BobbeSeymour on 11 October 2005 at 06:51 PM.]

This is truly an impossible question.....I have no favorite....I have many favorites... Rose City Chimes....I used to get up a 5 in the morning to hear Ralph Emery's theme (Bobby Garrett's version). I have Bobbe Seymours and Buddy Emmons versions. I missed the opportunity to get a vinyl of Bobby Garrett's version at one of Scotty's Conventions. ALAS

Hank William's Medley by Tom Brumley
Take me out to the Ballgame by Buddy Emmons
Sweet Memories by Lloyd Green (1995 ISGC) that I recorded out of the air.
Sarah's Song by Sarah Jory
Look at us middle break by John Hughey....I am a puddle on the floor each time I hear it.
James Farmer's back up playing on Marty Robbins recording of 'I'll Step Aside' from 1957 album, The Song of Robbins.
Everything that Dicky Overbey did at last year's convention.
A love like This (No Name Shuffle) ......Buddy playing, Laney singing.
................there is no end to this....so I will just quit.

I hate to admit this, but whenever I hear Teach Your Children come across the radio I'm always moved. Also, Top of the World, done by the Carpenters. Beautiful arrangement.

As one of the seniors on the Forum I would have to go with Sarah Jory and "The Waltz You Saved For me." I also love to play it.
