Glen Campbell Arrested For EXTREME D.U.I.
Moderators: Dave Mudgett, Janice Brooks
Hey, if Kenny Rogers can still get airplay?...
It is sad that GC has a problem. He is not alone in that as many of us can attest. Let
us just be grateful that he didn't hurt anyone or himself this time and pray that
he gets on track soon.
I owe a lot to him. I watched him closely on TV and tried to play along during the round-robin portion of his show. I've seen him in concert several times and always came away knowing I'd just heard an amazing talent at work. I wish him well.

I don't like to think that Glen has 'ended up like this' - I hope it's just a bump in the road for this monumental talent.
I've been a huge fan of his ever since someone took me to see him in London over thirty years ago - I didn't know his name, but I was amazed by every facet of his musicianship.
Check out his singing on a lesser-known album of his - "Reunion", a collaberation with Jimmy Webb from a few years back - ir's sensational!

Doug,
You forgot one:
Country singer Wynonna Judd was arrested in November 2003 for drunk driving. Following a traffic stop, Nashville cops detected the smell of booze on the 39-year-old performer, whose eyes were watery and dilated. After consenting to a Breathalyzer, Judd blew a .175--more than twice the Tennessee limit.

Is this what Doc Watson would look like if he went electric?
It is a shame about GC, but I hope in the long run he benifits from this strong warning. Nothing like a bit of social castigation to put you back on the wagon again.
There is a reference from Eric about Diabetis, but lets not overlook it's inverse cousin Hypo-Glycemia, or an over production of insullin caused by excess sugars in the bloodstream.
This then causes a depression like state coupled with diminished thought speeds. You are sad and feel stupid. A bad combination for someone in a bar.
So either take a nap or, have another round.
I suspect this malady is more prevalent in alchol related incidents than it is ever given credit for.
If it is recognised it can be dealt with by self regulation of sugars intake, if not, you are at it's mercy.
No you don't go into diabetic shock and die from it, but it still is a real problem for many. Especially in relation to drinking.
