A Great Loss

Post by Carl Williams »

b0b,
I have to start out with b0b…hard to break an almost 20 year habit. Simply this: My friend you truly, immeasurably enhanced my steel guitar knowledge and skill not to mention our steel guitar community. Like many on here we thanked b0b every chance we had. Once again, my heartfelt thanks for everything b0b 👍.

So Sorry

bOb has been in the center of the steel player world for so long. I can't imagine there will ever be anyone else so dedicated to this art again. This is very sad news indeed.
Rest in peace brother.

How do you process this kind of news???.
lets just remember the fact that this brainchild of Bob Lee that we all access daily is and was a completely new and ultimately perfect way to close the distances, seal the gaps as it were in our collective playing styles, preferences, ages, distances, experience, musical tastes etc.. His invention brought thousands upon multi thousands of divergent individuals into a much more intimate kinship that has now endured decades and continues to grow. The friendships that the SGF has nurtured by its existence are a fitting legacy.RIP Bob.........

I am stunned.

b0b was one of the few supporters I had years ago (not just in the forum, but in the world)....when I appeared like a banjo player at a heavy metal metal forum. He gave me more help, guidance and support than anyone other than then late Bobbe Seymour.

I'm still...and always will be...a "just enough to get away with it " player. But I would not be playing/servicing/advising at all nor met some wonderful players were it not for b0b.

Happy Trails, my friend.

Thanks to Bobby Lee and this forum he started, I've reconnected with many old friends and fellow road-warriors from back in the day. It has been a great pleasure for certain. I also agree with Ron Hogan in that b0b should be in the HOF.

My sincere and deepest sympathies, along with prayers go out for him and his family. I pray that The Lord will give them peace and comfort in their loss. RIP Bobby Lee,,, we will miss you deeply..!!

Sincerely,
Chris "Tiny" Olson

Condolences To Family & Friends

Post by Jim Fogle »

My condolences to bOb's family and to all his friends both inside and outside the forum. I never met bOb but feel like I've lost a true friend.

I hope the forum comments will bring Bobby Lee's family some small degree of comfort.
