John Macy wrote:I recently moved my entire commercial recording studio from Denver down to South Texas-mountains of gear and racks including a 7’6” concert grand piano, Hammond and Leslie, stands, furniture etc. Managed to densely pack it all into a 24’ truck. Other than blowing a tire in San Antonio (where I limped it over to Tommy Detamore’s place and waited for the tire service including a great visit with Tommyl) it was pretty easy. Still finishing up the rewire and new install.
Awesome !
I'm just moving my gear into various rooms ! In the process though, we are cleaning out all of the storage spaces, crawl spaces, bins etc--- looking at stuff I haven't touched in years, maybe longer. I am embarrassed to say I found stuff I didn't even remember I had, and purchased yet another !
My studio room is multi purpose, not just for music alone, which off course takes up more than half the room.
The teardown and move isn't so bad, its the cleaning out and making a decision on years of stuff that I have collected and stored which is time consuming. Apparently my wife is correct, I am a pack rat ! I have the "worlds supply" of cables, stands, music books, CD's , connectors, adapters, power supplies etc...
"Don't throw that away , I might need it 10 years from now " That's me.
