Mullen Discovery vs Justice S-10 Jr.

Post by Joseph Lundeen »

I am looking to purchase my first pedal steel guitar and have narrowed it down to either a Mullen or Justice. Since I have not had the fortune to try either, I was hoping for some opinions on the subject.

Both guitars will serve you well. I’ve had the opportunity to play the Discovery model, and know several people who own and love them. When my Mullen G2 is too much to carry, I’ll get a Discovery and not look back.

Hi Joseph,
I don't think you could go wrong with either which you will see as others chime in. I have a Justice guitar and I could not be happier, I'll say that much. And....the build time was very reasonable, about six weeks if I recall correctly.
Happy Hunting!

Hey Joseph, since you’re in Long Beach, it’s not too far to Oceanside. You might check in with Jim at Steel Guitars of North County and see if his inventory might help you decide. (760) 754-2120

I have a Justice S-10 Jr as well as SHO-BUD and EXCEL. It’s a very well made machine. You can get a very simple set up and add up to 5 knee levers and 4 pedals so you can advance gradually in payout and in knowledge. I think that’s an important factor. It’s as well engineered and machined as a pro guitar, unlike many previous starter type steels.

Big thanks to Ron Anderson! I decided to go with a Justice S-10 Jr. What sold me was the professional build quality and the ability to upgrade to more pedals and knee levers later on. Looking forward to joining the Justice family!
