Donnie, I will send you four milled from solid stock necks in trade for your cast necks.

Remember, it isn't a cabinet to which you simply add parts, or reattach parts.
Would you please explain, Chris?

Thanks, Jody!

Chris, as you can qualify from my posts, I'm open minded. I understand if you don't want to contribute your knowledge. Does anybody know what Chris is talking about?

Mounting plates

Post by Steve Spitz »

Cameron,
That's an interesting mod. If it sounds better , it is better. I also like your attitude regarding modifications. If it adds to your enjoyment of the instrument, vs. "saving it for the next guy" I say go for it. It's not like you're taking a chainsaw to a Stradivarius.

Scott, I believe my Zum uses nylon bushings, but don't mount directly to the body.

I'd like to hear from pickup manufacturers on mounting plate materials ,and from builders regarding mounting mechanisms.

A lot of knowledge here on the forum.

Legrande

Post by Wayne Baker »

The very first night I played my brand new Legrande II out, the third string tuning key came off the keyhead. I modified it by replacing the tuning keys with sperzals. Eventually one of the East coasters got it and took the back neck off.

So thankful for Show Pro steel guitars...
Thanks,

Wayne Baker
